Just FYI, I have 2+ KDR on all three variants. ("hurr durr KDR means jack" well yeah I round about 800+ dmg per match too screw you)
And I also noted that I don't have time to record a video yet, but feel free to check my Hunchback guide and my YT channel, which, dare I say, adequately reflect my skill level.
Jeez people these days, DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO
2k/d is garbage, 800dmg in direwolf is a disgrace
Do you have a team in MWO?
What other games have you played besides mechwarrior? Counterstrike hopefully? Battlefield or call of duty maybe?
You've played something else that you were good at hopefully right?

So yeah, it is possible for a DW to die with <100 dmg, but if you are able to engage on the fronlines, I've seen 2.000+ damage matches. The DW is risky when pugging, but a solid platform in a 12 vs. 12.
But even there, they do not often reach over 500-600 damage points, as:
1. The match is over before they can
2. If they do more, they are either the only DW in the team or the team is somewhere else
3. The DW got ignored in favor for Madcats/Stormcrows etc and could reap through the enemies lines
In most cases in a 12 vs. 12, I guess point 3 is the reason, a DW can get to 800+ dmg. In a PUG-match on the other hand - it should be more easy to do, as the enemy is unorganized and a DW can pick up enemy per enemy, reaping 1000+ dmg and 4-5+ kills.

Question:
What's the OP's K/D, win/lose ratio, overall or stats in the direwolf?
Also, I ' m curious if you play on a team? Furthermore, past gaming experience?
^These are the questions people should be asking when they read the 10,000,000 guides listed on MWO forums....
Well, if we're down to credibility check, here, knock yourself out.
Current:
Archived:
DWF stat:
Prime is a bit lower since I was testing intensively whether I could come up with a loadout that somewhat resembles a stock. Didn't work out, though.
Also, I pug exclusively. Ain't got no time for Teamspeak. (which kinda proves ELO works, given my W/L is basically 1)

Fear not, fellow Hunchbro! I have moved on, but have not forgotten! The glorious 50-tonner asymmetric steed will always occupy a special place in my heart.
Seriously. I can't play nearly as well in a Nova than in a Hunchie. SHOULDER-MOUNT HARDPOINT 4 LIFE

My only criticism, if you make an ultimate guide, I don't expect you to be the best player out there, but I do expect you to come at it from all the angles. Approach it as if you are not trying to hide anything because you don't like it, even if you are not a big fan of metagaming. I am not the best player myself either but I also ask some top players for their opinions on tons and tons of stuff.

my old build involved 3x CAC10's and 9x meds. the dps was just ridiculous and i didnt need to shut down like the alpha strike guys.
now, heat is more of an issue, so i went with dual gauss and cut down on a few lasers. if i want more dps i run LBX-10's since they have lowest cooldown and best ammo usage across all 10 series ac's. downside of course is the damage spread across the face of a mech.
i never run pure variants of the direwolf, makes no sense for an extra tidbit of xp.
and i will always take LPL over cerppc anyday.

What the hell does this matter? Seriously man?
You keep showing up in threads like this and asking for peoples past pro fps credentials as if that mattered even one bit in a game as slow paced as MWO.
The Direwolf is a bit harder to pull insane numbers in because it's such an obvious and easy target. Sure you have obscene firepower but thats not the only ingredient in a 6+ kill 1k+ damage game. If you were even half as good as you think you are you'd understand it.

Might I dare say that those three games are vastly different from MWO? Yes, they are First Person Shooters, but that is where the similarities end. MWO requires much more beyond basic reflex and twitch/response skills. I don't consider myself a good player at all, but I frequent the forums extremely often (read: every day), and I find Helmstif's guides extremely helpful. In fact, his Hunchback guide encouraged me to take them up and I now consider them one of my favourite chassis'.

harder to pull off insane numbers? do I really need to post all the 1k+ games I've had in it with multi kills?
Asking for past experience as if it mattered " a bit"? Why, suddenly credibility or experience doesn't "matter" in a game filled with terribad sh*tty pub scrubs who make guides/build crap mechs/no nothing about esports/competitive gaming?
I understand far more in the context of this game than you are the majority of the community can even comprehend, exactly why I literally came to MWO in July (~3months ago) and already hooked up and met with the best players in the game.
I know who the intelligent, skilled, experienced players in this game are, and they get my/the respect of another one like them.

Subjective. Although CS (I will use this as the example since it is the pinnacle of FPS eSports) seemingly and obviously requires more aiming/mechanical/twitch skill, it can be also argued it requires far more map/situational awareness aswell, compared to mechwarrior.
Yes, mechwarrior requires aiming skill (leading projectiles, firing groups of weapons with different velocities simulataneously accurately and pinpointing components etc..) and it can be argued MWO even requires more positional skill than aiming.
However, having played both, I would easily say that map knowledge of CS, i.e. CS:GO is far superior and at a faster pace.
Also, the whole "the games are completely different" argument are a sign of stupidity and lack of knowledge. Most games, require the same foundation of basic skills to thrive. It's kill or be killed, and the whole "omg the game is so different" mentality is merely what keeps imbeciles diluted and never able to understand a game properly.
Actually, the ironic thing the most competitive and elite gamers realize the similarities of games (the philosohphy for winning) is so identical that it can be argued the basic structure for thriving and winning is the same in any virtual game.

As far as the rodents in this game who lack skill, lack IQ, lack experience; yeah, I know who you are. You get no respect.
Hey man ease up, remember you're in the "new guy" section of the mwo forums
Just clap, give 'em a lollipop, pat 'em on the head, and let them continue on their way. They don't want to set sail for the part of the map labeled "here there be monsters"

Quake 3 100dmg railguns/UT or CS: 1.6, you claim CS:Go/COD/BF which tells me you probably got into "pro gaming" like 4 years ago.
And ofcourse it's not hard to get multi kill games and 1k damage in a Direwolf, provided you get to shoot unmolested all the time. But theres more at play if you drop solo than just firepower.

If they want to be competitive, yes you do.
And E has made it repeatedly quite clear, that "Intensively Competitive" is the only thing he considers worth anything.

"Competitive" is the bar or the standard because it's "play to win" or maximizing domination and killing in this virtual context.
YES, competitive in MechWarrior Online at the moment is a JOKE. I get this, no one is denying this.
YES, I come off as a complete tool and jerkoff on these forums. I get this. It's fine, I don't care much about that, or if you get the sub 30% of people that don't like that attitude and avoid my posts completely. Funny thing is that the attitude and image attacts and ellicits far more responses than people would imagine and that is exactly what I am going for.....
But yes, everything has to be judged against the "competitive" aspects in this game because it's the pinnacle of mech combat. So, good builds and bad builds are judged upon it or defined from it, strategies/tactics.... PLAYERS....
This is exactly how you balance a game. You get the best players and best teams in leagues and see what happens. The play-to-win mentality is 99.9% if not 100% of eSports/competition players, so they gravitate toward the best weapons/builds, strategies that result in winning. Thus, you can see if X amount of games are this weapon, or THAT strategy, with no other options, if something is overpowered or a certain playstyle is unbalanced.
So, coming full-circle, when people post builds/guides/strategies, that are completely 100% opposite of anything seen in competitive play, of course, anyone with half a brain is going to respond and say "hey, well why are you posting this to new players"....
It's brutally honest but so be it. I mean, peopel can argue that these players "are trying to learn" and don't want to "win" but I call BS on the argument. Also the "they are new so competitive builds won't work for them" argument.
