I am also beginning to see people start to escort the direwhales, but in team matches. In pugs I do not know if that is true right now, since the weekend event through normal tactics out the window.
Although I was able to get a direwolf, hellbringer and a summoner in a Jager A during one match, but that was one of the times people protected the direwhale.

Found an AFK Direwhale sitting near the spawn. Quickly ravaged his rear torso in my Jenner, and then moved onto the rest of the battle in HPG. Found an Atlas trying to fight one of my Jagermech friends alone, so I jumped on his rear and pounded him until he turned around and then he got blasted to pieces by said Jagermech, not very wise this one. Also a little off topic, but I also legged a Raven and a Spider from behind while they were trying to snipe. Bawhwhahaha, I guess that would be minnow fishing?

My personal favorite kills/deaths:
First drop in my Direwolf on June 17th. Flamer Locust zips by, and then proceeds to BBQ me, until I died of it.
Running around in my Ember, ran into a DWF on Alpine, in the J8 I7 area. I use my JJs to jump on top of the DWF, and then proceed to burn it with my 4 MLs while sitting on top of it. Poor ******* didn't know what to do. It was probably the most frustrating death in MW:O's history. Second only to death by non-stop ramming for 5+ minutes.
This is epic. I wish you would have got it on video. Feel kinda sorry for the poor whale though.

My laptop is really bad (I get 18 fps on the best of days). So I don't run any recording programs, to make sure I maintain decent fps.

I love messing up those useless ECM Ravens that pack ERLL and run off on their own instead of helping their team. Something about the Raven leg hitbox...is just so vulnerable. It's even funnier when I mess them up when they are helping their team. Legged one right behind an entire lance of his friends on Terra Therma once. They did nothing to save him. Tunnel vision is rough stuff, quineg?

That's like the opening sequence of mech commander except replace the TW with the Atlas, Raven with the Jaeger and Centurion and Commando with Jenner.

Solo'd another Stalker in my Wubcada(well, its an honorary light...), broke off, i was the last man standing on my team. Went all the way around to drag them out and catch the slowest heavy. Found a lone Jager with a cored rear RT...so tasty...
I fought hard but his buddies showed up before i could get that last shot behind him(he was smart enough to back against canyon wall and Wubcada cant jump)

Wait, nevermind, probably a bit too late for pirate speak.
Anyways, after I took out a Dire Wolf for a spin on the testing grounds last week, I got a very good idea of its capabilities. With that knowledge, I was able to kill two Dire Wolves today (and a Timber Wolf) with my Shadowhawk. No wimpy hill-humping 2xAC5/PPC build or anything like that. No, straight up brawling with 3 MGs, SRM16 with 5 tons of ammo and a large laser for scraping assists from a distance. The first one we bum rushed, and even though it had seen me, it focused on my ally. Two SRM volleys to the rear CT and it went down with the pilot assuredly going "WTF?!". Then a second crawls up to our little group of three of four mechs with a Timber Wolf and some lights tagging along. I get right up in close, take out its left torso while just being to the side of it, and then finish it off with a volley to the face. Managed to beat a Timber Wolf in a brawl after that as well, surviving this series of events that lasted maybe two minutes with my entire left side a wreck, missing the arm and leg, with the LT exposed, but surviving nonetheless.
Funnily enough, we won via base cap that match. Anyways, point is, if you know their mobility, or rather lack thereof, you can tear them apart at your convenience even in something with half the weight and firepower.
Edit: Ooh, forgot to add the most important part, the light love! Over this weekend, I've buzzsawed at least one Dire Wolf and two Warhawks with my lights. I love it when they back into a corner to fire off their LRMs, but don't back in all the way. When they do that, they think there's an error or something when they're getting hitmarks from the rear, and they just never turn around.

Are Dire Wolves really that slow to turn that you can out maneuver one in a 64 kph hunch back?
They need to add Death from above and more Assault mechs with jump jets so they can turn faster.

In my favourite Jenner, "Jatkohai" (six small pulse lasers, four jumpjets), on River City Night, I found a Whale fishing for krill down in the river. I jumped down and attacked his knees until I was in danger of overheating, then bounded back out into the city to cool off.
I came down for a second pass and now he had a Commando for backup, and we danced around for a bit while I spent my heat budget finally sawing off one Whale leg and worked on the next--until I jumped out again for another cooldown, leaving the Commando behind to cool his heels as well.
Then we finally went a third round where I finally put paid to that Whale, and it took long enough that it was just cleanup detail for the rest of my team. It was the most satisfying Whale kill I've had.
