You know until MASC is fixed a 240 ton rule means we will never see a player with 2 Dire Wolves in their drop bay.

you know what would be awesome?!?!

if they just started testing all the variations of drop ship mode on PBE.

then go with something that is acceptable from PBE data and player feedback. roll with it in live servers then tweak as we go before CW is ready.

lets be real honest here; they are not going to get it right the first time when DSM (drop ship mode) comes out.

Thing is, if the clans want to match the IS ton for ton...they just flat out WON'T be able to. IS can take what they like, they have every tonnage class, and doubles of some. Clans, have 25 T at the lightest.....

I like my DW, and I am good in them, if I die early on in both mechs, then that is MY CHOICE! I chose to take 2 mechs, and died quickly, so it is my punishment to sit out the rest of the match and hope I did enough damage so the team can win.

What about Deck Diversity? I know were talking about the Min/Max here however, Clans have VERY VERY VERY few options on the table to work with at 4/240. Heavys will probably be fine and any combination under the Warhawk. However the king of the clan mechs, will be out and its stupid to discriminate against them, since IS isn't getting the same treatment.

Unless Clan Drop decks are higher, like 250t allowing 2DW and 2ML, but as MW Budda has stated, were just going to be horrible in our light mechs, either we use them first, or last, either way ASSAULT mech pilots are not LIGHT mech pilots.

2-4 should be the "limit" or 200t, whichever comes first.......

Don't you worry about the clans, they'll be just fine. Hell if I had to pick between a Madcat and an Atlas right now I would be taking the Madcat. The Warhawk is sub-par compared to other CLAN mechs, but compare it to anything the IS has and it's pretty sweet...I have one that has the Armor of an Atlas, LRM30, 2 ER Large and a guass rifle and the damn thing moves over 70kph!

You aren't going to get 4 assaults.

You can complain about only getting 2 assaults though thats silly when you would have only gotten 1 in 1/1/1/1.

There was never ever going to be a system where you could bring 4 assaults.

We've covered this 100 times. You got more flexibility to avoid mechs that make you sick or whatever.

1/1/1/1 was less flexible.

You can learn Vindicators and take 45/45/65/85 for instance. I don't think of them as fast or bouncy. Certainly no more than the 55'ers are so you are winning versus 1/1/1/1.

You can learn Mad Dogs and just go 60/60/60/60 on the clan side, I have no idea if they are too fast.

Or you can keep crying about it.

Decision is being made for the good of the fun and gameplay of the invasion/dropship game mode. Not to punish a subset of pilots or to unfairly benefit some other subset. This complaint is and will continue to be ridiculous.

this guy really doesnt like me.

See; Id be picking the atlas because I dont own a mad cat. Clan side I wont be playing DSM at all as the only mechs I have are the ones I got ala carte, dire wolf and warhawk

Bait taken.

This has to be a troll reply because you cant be serious.

What about the light mech pilot that wants to take 4 lights and lower the drop weight?

You will likely come up with another senseless reason why the game should be made only for assault pilots?

In this quote the guy wants to take 2 mechs and feels the needs to try make everyone else take 2 mechs. Where is the guy that wants to take 7 mechs? I dont see that troll post yet lol.

Missed the point did ya, went right over your head. Here let me write it out so you can understand what is being argued here.

I am not saying for people to take 2 mechs, I am advocating to allow players the option of being able to take 2 or 3 or 4 mechs within the drop wight limit. This allows the Assault pilots to take JUST there assaults, they would only get 2 or 3 depending on what mech they have perfected.

Light mechs are unaffected by this, so are mediums, the tonnage restriction doesn't effect them, the max of 4 does. Heavy pilots will have some choices to make, but would be able to take 4 lighter (60t) heavies within the 240.

The requirement to take 4 mechs hurts assault pilots the most. Requiring players, who are assault mech masters, to take mechs they have ZERO interest in, just to meet the 4 mech requirement. This will drive many players nuts as they have to ton down and not take there best mech or pair of mechs.

I agree with this guy. If I want to take two mechs and sit out the rest of the match, then I should be able to.

Theres no reason to HAVE to field a whole lance by yourself (if we wanna get all lore about it) nor is it likely you would HAVE all those mechs TO drop 4 with in the first place (or is that mistaken where everyone here seems to say that all the time).

Or take two that are your best and two you just suicide with. Then when you get a GM interested, you can just tell them that the game mechanics require you to do this.

Quote the part where I said that. Ill wait.

Stop lying to push your agenda, and dont put words in my mouth

Fact is I said ID even be fine if I were penalized by having to sit out the whole rest of fight for just bringing two mechs.

Otherwise what Ill do is "fight" in a locust (or what would look like suicide to anyone else being I dont use lights ever).

Are light mechs really that gimped with a over 140 ton? Nope, 3 of 35 ton then a Ciciada and they are fine at 145 tons.

I fail to see why dropship mode shouldn't allow us to take 4 mechs, no matter the wieght and size, period.

Previous games with dropships were build around a progression where you started out with light mechs but slowly progressed to heavier oned with more armor and firepower. MWO is not built that way, but instead tries to balance the 4 classes with mobility and stealth against armor and power. This is how we've been playing up till now, and it works pretty good so far, right?

Light players enter a match with one mech, one life, just as the guy picking an assault mech. Some of us pilots do better in the former, others in the later category. So why in the world would we give light and medium players more lives through the weight limit in CW but not in regular matches? Why would we give players that enjoy heavies and assaults only 2 mechs they excel at, and the ligher pilots 4?

And seeing that most matches end with the losing team only having a light alive tells me that their survivability already is better than that of havier mechs.

I would say "kind of." Honestly, though, given equally skilled pilots, one in a Light one in a Heavy or Assault, the Heavy/Assualt pilot is going to come out on top more often than not.

Assuming they go with a 240 ton max weight, as they've implied, Heavy pilots would be able to take 4 Heavies. So really the only issue is for people who play nothing but Assaults.

Well, I don't think that speaks to their survivability. Light 'Mechs go down incredibly quickly when attention is being paid to them. Lights just have that tendency to survive till the end of the match precisely because they're seen as less of a threat than bigger 'Mechs, and don't get focus-fired as often.

I play heavies and assaults, mostly assaults. I cant bring heavies and assaults with a 240 max. You can bring all heavies yes, But I drive my atlases more than anything.

Let me gimp myself and bring only two.

I embrace gimping everyone equally. Make everybody take one of each. An upper limit still limits choices well enough.

I think we should be able to take UP TO four mechs. Then we can bid down to two if we want to

Putting in a lower limit in addition to an upper would also serve to gimp everyone equally.

TL;DR the whole thread..

So let me suffice it to say..

L: up to 35
M: up to 55
H: up to 75
A: Up to 100

Total drop limit 265 should be about right.

If you bring two Direwhales, then your left with two Kit Foxes.. and 5 tons..

OR you can bring

3 Timberwolves and a Kit Fox

or

4 Mad Dogs

Seems about right..

Which would gimp them more, me bringing two mechs or two lights where I WILL do less than 60 damage in?

2 respawns in which I, and others, will be bad for the team in, and hinder them more then help them.

Its a matter of choice for the big 90, 95,100t assault pilots, who get **** on all the time by everyone else who is NOT in the rolling lance-in-a-mech. Those of us who like our big mechs, and cannot lie, want to be able to bring 2 of them at least. However, due to the new announced restrictions, Clanners will not be able to do that, we get ONE, one mech, the rest are just there to "fill the gap".

Either Raise the tonnage cap for Clans to 250, so us Clanners can take our big mechs, and then 2 little Myst's, that we might be able to do something in. OR.....OR, let us just take the 2 mechs we want and forget the others, or take a 40ton medium for 3 mechs.

Its a matter of allowing the PLAYER to choose his play style, even if he is "punished" for it by only having 2 mechs, rather then a full complement of 4. As it stands now, Clans will have very little Deck Diversity.
