'I can't bring a gauss or an AC/2, I need a standard engine! You know, for all the brawling I'm going to be doing with these 3 machine guns.'
On the subject of abominable Centurions, I was really excited about the quirks.

Tell me if I'm reading that wrong, but tall of their CT armour is still there, so they had to overheat with three MGs and three LRM5s, right? How is that even possible, to overheat with that? Even with single heat sinks, thats incredibly easy to avoid.

Two of mine that I had to change quickly:
Cicada: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fd8706877adf23f (I really expected this to do something other than capturing);
Hunchback: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...80f05b3c6f69add
I also used the following Cataphract build successfully (600+ pinpoint damage), but it was rendered completely useless with the last Gauss patch:

Tourmaline with singles is going to get hot pretty fast if they run. It is a pretty badly done AH. If you have the cooldown reduction module you can easily outstrip your heat sinks cooling rate. Back in the days before we had double heat sinks, when I developed the zombie Gauss Cent using a CN9-A you could overheat in the caldera on Caustic Valley with it.

Yep and they overheat and take internal damage if you fire a second alpha strike on weapon cooldown. One of the ultimate shame 'Mechs if you get killed by it though. Slower than even Dire Wolves after it has speed tweak.

Their CT was open, sorta hard to tell in that shot since they were taking damage. Though, that would arguably make it even funnier if they were running a STD, as I don't remember seeing them torso twist at all.
According to Smurfys, it would take 47 seconds to overheat a 10 SHS mech with 3xLRM5. So certainly possible, but definitely an impressive feat of heat mismanagement.

Nope, CT not open. I can clearly see the armor lines. Damage never gets updated on the paperdoll until a full second has passed, so if damage was done to the CT, after armor was penetrated, then the armor lines wouldn't be showing on the paperdoll with a damaged CT. They overheated, BAD.

A Cicada with one AC20 is a great build, and there is nothing wrong about it!

Not really. If he can reliably kill 3 assaults or heavies every game before self-destructing it would be a big advantage to his team. It would put them 2 mechs up in the battle. If you had 3 dwfs doing that, you could be in a 9 vs 3 game quite quickly.
Well then.
