I almost want to make a troll video where I drop in the build and run around the map constantly firing.... But I don't want to inconvenience 23 other people like that.

It does have some alluring charm doesn't it? Maybe that's how it happened for that player, he saw it and couldn't help it happening to himself as well. Like that one video you really shouldn't watch because it will get you murdered.... Posted Image

Eh, where is that? Tell me, so that I may burn it to the ground with my MLX-A.

It was disbanded when the Locust entered the game. You aren't missing much, it was just about how to be sneaky.

Spectated a Stalker last night with 4xLRM5 and 4xmedLaser. I can do that in a MEDIUM! What was he thinking?!?! I guess he wanted LOTS of ammo.

I guess I watched too many Parthian horse archers in a strategy game that I thought I might as well try it in MWO...

NarcLurmTartFox

Surprisingly, it managed to rack 600+ damage in three consecutive games. Decided I shouldn't keep pushing my luck, despite the hilarious comments I got from teammates xD

With the AC/2 heat going down in Tuesday's patch, I'm really looking forward to breaking out my quad-AC/2 Jager. It was always fun, but always kind of struggled with heat.

If you add Ferro and take head armour to 10 and leg armour to 52, you can add two more tons of AC/2 ammo.

dump the heat sinks and bump up the armor. with 10 DHS it still has an 81% heat efficiency. take you almost 3 minutes of sustained fire to overheat. you will be moving around way too much to ever do that. also once you get the cool run and heat containment it goes to 6 plus minutes. Elite and you are back to never. also shave the arms a bit do a 250 eng and do away with the external heat sinks all together. or give up one Jump Jet and stuff an XL 270 in there and now we are moving 145 kph (156 with tweak) with an 83% efficiency. almost 3 and 1/2 min to over heat, 12 min with basics and never with elites.

almost max armor /xl240 129kph (139)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...27b163218cb456e

shaved arms xl250/xl255 same weight but xl 250 fits more mechs /xl250 135 kph(145) /xl255 137kph(148)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...bb98765b6b02bcf

11 JJs xl270 145kph(156)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...c861c6d25515b4f

shaved arms 10 JJs Max eng XL 285 153kph(165)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1d5dffe463e5044

a little more shaved 11 JJs xl 285 153 kph (165)

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...aa3597472d6e460

in light mechs speed is life. giving up 1 JJ to get FF and a bigger engine is not going to be that noticeable in this insane jumping mech.

just for refferance the classic fast jump snipper

11 JJs XL270 1 ERLL

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d3a779b46f6f63b

almost 1/2 the DPS but a real PIA for the reds as it can snipe from places other mechs can only dream of

After they took down AC/2 heat, I've been doing some trolling in a hex-AC/2 JagerMech.

Though it rightly belongs in this thread, it actually does ... OK for me. Quite often you die quickly and embarrassingly, but average performance tends to be good enough, which did surprise me.

After trying some iterations, I found the best balance (if that word can ever be used with this thing) between armour, speed and ammo with XL235, 8 tons ammo, 215 points of armour. Stays alive just long enough to use the ammo, most games.

Spotted on Terra Therma:

...Someone really wanted to go supernova. I'm not even sure what the original armour distribution was, so I left it blank.

why not LPLs? Similar tonnage, better heat, and actually work under 90 meters.!?

not PPFLD though... I'd swap the LRM/5's out for ASMR/4's personally, but I'd run that.

Use the AC/20 and ASM/4s for things with in 100m, and PPC for things outside of 100m. Just using the PPC's you have around 50% heat efficiency, just using the short range armament you've got around 54% heat efficiency, with no mastery skills...

Not using the ECM that helps the D-DC so much and lrms on an assault mech were my main problem with that build. I personally love the shotgun special on the AS7-D-DC .

Well they are using LRM/5's they do have he tightest grouping of all LRM/s so there is some smarts there, perhaps they use them when closing the gap, or provide indirect attack while closing the gap?

A good player can make that work ok, but a good player would never ever forego the ECM.

ECM is a crutch, that far too many people rely on, I'd rather have radar dep.

I've had Raven 3L's try to face tank my mechs, because they think ECM will save them... then they get mad when I use direct fire weapons and kill them..

ECM is a crutch if you rely upon it, if you know it's worth (and its limitations) it's still a powerful advantage for its tonnage.
