Would love to see an Exterminator , particularly a 4C (replace the null-signature system with ECM): EXT-4C The 4C is the fully-equipped stealth version of the 4D and released in the same year, including the Null-Signature System and Chameleon Light Polarization Shield.

Inner Sphere NEEDS the BLACKKNIGHT with ECM/JJ. It is one of the only Heavys that can counter the timberwolf or the Loki.

BLK-NT-2Y Another Dark Age version of the Black Knight, the -2Y is equipped with an XL Engine that drives it to 54km/h. The weight freed by the XL engine is used to add a Beagle Active Probe, Guardian ECM Suite, and C3 Slave unit. It has thirteen and a half tons of armor to protect an Endo-Composite skeleton. It is also equipped with a Targeting Computer, and a Medium Shield is carried on the right arm. Offensively, it mounts a PPC, two large lasers, and three medium lasers. All equipment is ofInner Sphere quality.

I don't really like either. The BK will have more energy hardpoints so it can boat more lasers. Grasshopper has JJs, 1 missle but less energy hardpoints overall. Personally I'd probably run the BK but because I don't pilot heavies and want to see more variety I'll likely vote Grasshopper.

I originally posted for the Black Knight, but thinking about what the game Meta needs a Grasshopper sounds a lot more useful.

The Inner Sphere needs something that can challenge Clan dominance of the 75T slot. Give me that precious Grasshopper and it's tasty, tasty jump jets.

This one is tough to decide, huge grasshopper fan even though the guillotine is same weight but superior. Going to go with 75 tons because there are already a bunch of lighter heavies. That's the only real reason weak as that is

This game is lacking in battlemechs containing the words "knight" and/oror "black". It is a travesty that must be righted!

This thread is yet another example of how PGI leadership shows poor decision making skills.

Adding more mediocre mechs is such a waste of development effort which should be dumped either into fixing existing systems (name one, every system in the game could use improvement) or, you know, maybe working on CW.

Here the choice really stands on how the hardpoints will be configured.

Today ERLL are becoming a sort of New META, so a good Energy boat is a good solution. A lot depends where the HP are tho.

it seems the BK is gonna have several HP in the STs. Reading this:

Quote

a Magna Hellstar II PPC in the right arm serving as its primary weapon. Backing up the PPC are two McCorkel Large Lasers in either side torso that can inflict a great deal of damage as the Black Knight closes with its enemy. Finally, for close range fighting, the 'Mech employs four Maxell DT Medium Lasers, one in either arm and in either side torso and a single Magna Small Laser in the head

We can see:
1 E HD
2 E RT
2 E LT
1 E LA
2 E RA

This config seems very balanced, and many weapons will be protected. You can lose your arms and still having a lot of firepower. You can lose an entire side and still have a potential 50% firepower.

About the Grasshopper:

Quote

primary weapon a Diplan HD Large Laser in its center torso. Supplementing the large laser at close range are four Diplan M3 Medium Lasers, one on either side of the center torso and one in each arm, allowing the Grasshopper to return fire from any angle with but a torso twist. The large laser's firepower is augmented at long range by a Conan/S LRM-5 launcher mounted in the head

This meaning:
1 M HD
1 E CT
1 E RT
1 E LT
1 E RA
1 E LA

.. and there could be more than that, but we don t know.
But the GHR has JJs....

it s a rough call. these 2 are mostly equivalent but only 1 has JJ... therefore I will go GHR.
