Anyone else notice that one map hasn't been in rotation all weekend?

I must have imagined those matches on Alpine then.

Played a number of matches on Alpine. I think it's just a random coincidence for you.

Feels like they have put both caustic and alpine lower for the mining collective

Assuming that wasn't sarcasm, I agree- we need bigger, classic MechWarriors style maps like that. Just better designed and without so many center points. Mining Collective is an example of this- there really aren't any focus points and games tend to play out quite differently. However, it's still too small IMO.

So take that design philosophy and add it to much larger maps, and we have a winner. :)

i love the large maps but alpine is bad design and i wish people could use the rest of it.

more large maps would be so much fun. mining collective is a great start to me.

Alpine is a good map but the way the current objectives play out makes Alpine terrible to play on. Alpine is a map that favours positioning and thinking... something rather hard in uncoordinated pugs.

The high hill may seem like a pain but there are many ways to counter it. Jump sniping from the opposing hill and a ridge at the lower end of the hill helps in dealing damage against people encamped on the hill and good communciation for fast movement will allow you to beat the hill campers.

Not sarcasm at all, and I completely agree with you.

Alpine needs to be smaller than all new maps coming.

I've noticed when I play I tend to get one map that I drop on constantly and one that I don't drop on but once or twice. I only dropped on Alpine once this whole weekend but next weekend I might be stuck on it lol

I like Alpine too. It does not play as well as it used to. It was designed before the hill climb/JJ nerfs so the maneuver options are somewhat limited. I do wish we had random spawn points to take better advantage of the map and mix it up some. I also wish it was even larger for team battle, like it use to be. Some of the higher terrain got clipped at some time. Probably due to some dang ECM spider wasting time. Anyway to get a vote player off like we had in MW4? That is how we took care of the "I don't care about wasting everyone's time" jerks.

I wish. I think I got this map at least 20-30% of the games I played. What I haven't got is Alpine in Conquest mode which is the only fun version of the game since it is the only mode that gets people off that damn mountain.

That's good news. If I could choose (and Russ said we will be able to do so in the future), I'd never drop on a map where LRMs can dominate. Never.
