I didn't get very many games in over the weekend, of my 10 qualified wins, 9 were with my Summoner.

And one of those matches was a personal best (with the Summoner, that is), lol.

I did ok. I consider myself a slightly above mediocre pilot. Slightly. I placed 81st in IS mediums (1873). Got 11 "valid" wins. I was happy to be in the top 100. Mostly with my Wang and Cicada 3M. Had a lot of fun. Was a little chaotic with every one trying to get those kills. A few TKs here and there (not by me). It was kind of nice to see a little more aggressive play though. Fewer matches of "stand behind the wall till you die." I think I could have gotten the extra 300 points to make it in the top 15 if I'd just learn to quit poking my head in to places where I know it'll get shot at. I'm one of those that really wants to just take a quick peek around that corner to see if the D-wolf is still there. Yea, stupid I know.

Actually, from seeing all those posts here and on other threads, was it seriously THAT hard to get valid wins?

As long as your contributing to your team it should be easy to get valid wins all the time. I pretty much had no issues with getting valid wins, it's the getting "wins" part thats hard, not just the "valid" part.

Why are people claiming it to be so difficult?

Problem was, you didn't get points for winning for the bonus C-bills. So you would have to get 12 assists and 150 damage to have a valid match. That was the hard part.

I wanted to add I thought this tournament was an improvement over the first. I liked that they did subtract FF dmg when calculating scoring to try to get people to pay more attention to it. Still was pretty bad but some of that was due to I think people diving for the kill shot or the converse with others laying back trying to shoot through you for the kill shot.

Guess I am in the minority here but overall I had some fun. There where some frustrating moments of FF or people getting TK'd intentionally at the start of a match because a rage quit player was upset about the tournament.

ETA: 30 valid wins apparently, forgot the tournament screen showed them.

I got my 10M cbills, most of the 20 valid wins (16 or 17) were in the Arrow, rest were in a lurmboat warhawk.

I enjoy these tournaments. With the scoring causing people to stop hiding and play aggressively, I actually have more fun in PUGs. Every time one of these comes around, by the end of the weekend I am a better player.

I ended up 61st in IS Mediums with 1906 and only 21 valid wins in a KTO-18 mostly just trying to get the 10 mil. On Monday night I ripped off 15 out of 16 wins to close the tourney out, but only half of those wins counted towards the c-bill bonus. Lots of 120-129 scores. I ended up playing around 8 hours total over the weekend, 2 on Friday, 3 1/2 on Saturday and then 2 1/2 on Monday. There was some drinking involved at the end.
