How long is the poll open? It will take a few days for the shock of constantly playing the mode you hate to get to all the players. Only after some extreme frustration will they do a Google search to find out where they can vote to stop it.

I hate the change, there is one specific game mode that I refuse to play, most likely I will simply disconnect when forced into it and try again.

This game mode system wouldn't be such a problem if we could see the map and mode before we pick our mechs and then click play or cancel. Would work nicely for solo queue I think.

I see closer ELO's as a good thing, and worth it.

Two weeks ago I ended up playing several games Friday night (with one friend) in the group queue with radical ELO differences. It wasn't fun. Not even close to being fun. Like "watch one SDR-5D on the other team slaughter your entire team without breaking a sweat" not fun. If playing a multiplayer game with friends is going to suck that bad then I'll go find another game to play.

It sounds like the ideal solution is to add some UI and make this a group-queue-only thing. If the ELO's are close in solo queues (which is consistent with what I've seen), it's not needed there. When ELO's go sideways in group queues, balance it out.

ETA: I'd much rather get to set preferences on a map than set preferences on a game mode. I've yet to meet anyone who will admit to liking Terra Therma.

You have now met one and I know I'm not alone. Not that that is an argument for or against map preferences.

i hate conquest, and i don`t want to play it in any circumstances and i don`t want to spoil game experience to people, who like conquest, so we should be firmly separated, i voted NO and i ask everyone, vote the same.

I really wouldn't have a problem with this if we were given the option of switching mechs in the same weight class if our preferred match type is not available. I'd much rather pilot one of my Battlemasters in a Conquest mission instead of my Rainmaker Stalker.

When I play, I select all modes and take a gamble. So I figured that I would prefer better matches over selecting a game mode. But then I remembered one thing: We have a module which is ONLY good in conquest - cap accelerator. Why equip a module if you can't select conquest only? So, I voted NO.

i dont play till i can choose my prefered gamemode again.

assault and skirmish is all about stick together, lrm and ppc/gauss spam...and i HATE that!

i love conquest, playing the solo hunter, with tactic, backstabbing enemys, fight 1v2-3 at one time.

Thats not possible on a 12 man bubble!

I strongly prefer the new system. Not only does it encourage more balanced builds and give people more incentive to not play exclusively assaults, I really haven't been thrown into many game modes I have unselected.

Seriously, this all stinks of crybabies making mountains out of molehills and losing their goddamn mind because they had to play their Dire Whale on Conquest once or twice. Christ, guys. It makes you better MechWarriors. Suck it up and learn to play.

i like to play assault mode only with all weight classes, and last 6 drops were: 3 conquests, 2 skirmishes,1 assault, and now you telling us stories about crybabys and l2p

Conquest is not "better" mode. We hate it. No money for capping, most pug teams leave heavier mechs alone and loose coz it etc etc. You go be "better" mechwarrior (not sure why running the alpine peaks for 15 mins makes you better").

I pay for spending time in what *I* want. Not in what someone else likes. So stfu about crybabies, beeing one yourself, stop doing drugs and stop telling people how to "improve" themselves, when its absolute nonsence.

Also I hope you "prefer" games where one team looses x people on the start, so the game is decided before it starts. Perhaps beeing 8 vs 12 and loosing, makes you better mechwarrior...

Even more since it doesn't make that much of a difference. A Dire Wolf can be just as effective in conquest as it is on skirmish.
And you can be left behind and die alone just as much with skirmish if you have a slow assault. Anybody ever drop on HPG in a slow assault on the left side in skirmish? With only PUG meds in your lance who ran away the second the game started?
Or on river city if you start in the last lance and everyone just runs circles around the map and you get left behind?
People have a lot of the same problems they complain about in all game modes

Instead of trying to reduce the wait time on the remaining playerbase, try and figure out what decisions you made drove ppl away.

Thank you PGI for reopening this poll. I like to think that I am on top of the forums, but this change to the game caught me completely off-guard. It is nice to be able to voice my opinion.

Frankly, I am really hoping to see the game return to its previous MM. I prefer to know into what game mode I am dropping, so that I can choose appropriate Mechs. Running Light Mechs? I'll choose Conquest. Running Heavies or Assaults? I'll choose Skirmish or Assault.

Having to cross my fingers and blindly hope is not particularly fun for me. Hopefully we will see the MM restored. The change in elo has not made any significant difference to my matches, so I hardly consider it worth losing my freedom of choice.

"bad game mode - because of skirmish"
others say
"bad game mode - because of conquest"
others say
"bad game mode - uhm what is it? oh conquest i do want to play skirmish"
but most say
"hey if the elo gap is reduced its worth a try - "
