This is actually the question I have. Does buying this top tier IS pack make us eligible for the King Crab?

Yes. Enjoy!

Awww man... when I think of Zeus I think of something other than the Zeus in de concept art posted...
I think of the conelike shoulders (>O<) and of the shoulders from mechcommander with the blades coming out of it.

The concept picture of the Zeus makes me think it will be like the Aweseome. Big fat and ugly. I loved the Awesome and Zeus in the previous mechwarrior games, but I would not touch the Awesome with a 10 foot pole. I hate to think the same will happen with the Zeus :( The Zeus and Awesome were 2 mechs that I was looking forward to the most after I saw the news about a new mechwarrior being released.

I say this because I care, I love how most of the mechs are designed in MWO. I really hope you change the look of the mech and this sentence gives me at least some hope: ,,Well they haven't modeled it yet for one''.

To be more specific, the concept art arms look like they consist of two parts and the shoulder consists of two parts, the upper and lower arm, what I like about the other Zeus pictures is the shoulder (one big cone) with only the lower arm attached to the shoulder, the lower arm being just a big case for a weapon system like LRM or a big PPC/AC20 cannon.

You may take my Ravens and Jagers, you may nerf the IS-AC20 even more, just please reconsider the Zeus appearance.

@Dennis de Koning, as someone with a Dutch heritance please hear my plea! ;)

Well, the no joint shoulder cones bolted deep into the torso look was unique to MW4. The look i was going for was based more on the ol' TRO art which does show more of a clear joint amidst the should cones

Additionally the fins from mechcommander 2 are technically unique to a later in the timeline high tech version of the zeus and were not present on earlier variants.

The original 3025 version is the best, just need to make the body a little thinner with the big shoulders.

I'm still seeing more complaints about there being another mech pack. Even though other people have already responded clarifying things for these complainers, I'll point it out to them again.

This isn't just another flash sale/cash grab from PGI, this is something which has been requested by the players who missed the Phoenix package and don't want to buy into the clans. They want an IS pack they can purchase which will allow them to be eligible for the Zoidberg.

It's also a good opportunity for PGI as well to add in the IS faction schemes to go alongside the clan schemes bundled with the wave 2 pack.

By all means don't buy into it if you don't want to but don't throw your complaints at PGI for offering this mech pack.

Until PGI can prove that quirks balance IS against clans I'm going to hold off buying more IS mechs for C bills or money at the moment.

Well with the Zeus we'll finally have a way to take that draconis scumbag, so that's definite a step forward.

Liked for reference.

DC Atlas and Catapult will been my priority target when I am in the Zeus.

4 more mechs that I'm not interested in. Haa-zaa...... I''m not looking to start a flame war or hear white knights telling me I'm wrong. This is just an opinion I wanted to share with the developer.

So you say "you're" not interested. Many are. However, why not contribute to the conversation and mention the mechs you would be interested to see in those categories?

Panther, Enforcer, Grasshopper, and Zeus are four very good mechs to have included in the game.

Mainly from a fluff perspective. Unlike a lot of players who gripe about what is or isn't a "Good" design, I just like to ride in stuff that I feel like riding in at that given point in time.

The Panther will nicely round out my DC lights. Also, it will be nice to have a hardy light that moves a little more slowly. With my Ping being what it is since the server move, I can't be scooting around at 120+ KPH anymore. It also means that I can sell the Jenner which I'd lovingly customized to almost perfectly recreate the horrible PNT-10K panther, complete with ERPPC, 64.4kph top speed, and single heat sinks.

The Grasshopper is very welcome as far as I'm concerned. It has had little to no limelight in any of the Mechwarrior games, but as far as the lore is concerned it's a staple design. Nice to see someone give it a nod. The same can be said of the Enforcer. Really solid medium on tabletop, and hopefully it is welcomed into players' repertoires as well.

The Zeus is another welcome addition, It's the staple of Steiner. While the joke goes that Steiner does everything with Atlases, doing it with Zeuses would be a whole lot closer to the truth.

I'm also really looking forward to the idea of faction-specific paint schemes. My only gripe is that it's once again being released as a lance pack. While comms have gone up from PGI since the schism, Community Warfare still seems like nothing more than the carrot on the stick, and I cancelled my Gold Warhawk over still having been given the run-around for a time too many.

I'm clearly going to be missing out on the bonus stuff, but I've got to be firm: I'm a single player kind of player. Just dropping me in matches which all amount to "Kill everyone" due to the poor rewards and difficulty of taking any other objective gets really boring, really fast. I'm used to and expecting experiences like sneaking around massive enemy complexes in search of a weakness, escorting hover-trains, reconnoitering factories, inspecting incoming vehicles for IEDs, preventing enemy mechs from escaping to the dropship, capturing supplies, sneaking into and destroying terraforming generators, and defending a base from impossible odds, all the while being immersed into the universe with varied, detailed maps, wingmen whose characters develop throughout the game, and a nominally well thought out plot. CW is the LEAST that PGI can do for players like myself, who get our fun from immersion, not from gloating about our score.

Without CW, this mech pack is like getting peppercorn steak without the steak. A $120 plate full of pepper isn't really what I was hoping for.

Okay, I have what I think is a fair question. I'm not too familiar with TT, maybe somebody who is could clear this up for me.

How is the second variant of the Enforcer, the 5D, even possible? Adding up all of the weapons, ammo, and the engine, its 44 tons out of a possible 50.

AC10 + 1t ammo = 13t
LB10X + 2t ammo = 13t
ERLL = 5t
SL = .5t
XL250 = 12.5

Thats 44 tons. Its not equipped with endo-steel, so its 44 out of 45 possible tons. Lets forgot that it has case (.5 tons) two extra heatsinks (2 tons), and at least two jumpjets (1t, idk how many are on the base variant) and nine tons of armor, adding up to 12.5 more additional tons. Even if we presume that endo-steel is added and that the two excess heatsinks are dropped, there's still seven tons of space explicibly unaccounted for. The 5D just isn't possible under MWO conditions.

Blah, not too looking forward to the Enforcer anyways. Not trying to complain, but with the Vindicator and Centurion around, it'll be tough for it to fill a niche without one of those chassis being edged out.

> Owns three Vindicators and Centurions and doesn't want any of these three chassis become obsolete.

The Grasshopper -7K gets ECM, but doesn't come out until 3068. None of the others ever have an ECM variant canonically.

On the other hand, no Atlas canonically has ECM, but the -D-DC ("dual cockpit") gets ECM. The ZEU-6S is often fitted with a dual cockpit too, so maybe we'll see a ZEU-6S-DC with ECM.

You've got two ACs in there, that's your problem. The -5D replaces the AC/10 of the -4R with an LB-10X, and the large laser with an ER large laser.

Does the Zeus come with a Binary Laser Cannon? = D

No Binary Laser. That was retro tech retried during the Jihad.

back in the day, Mechwarrior titles used to give you a game first, and Mechpacks second. PGI apparently feels like mechs first and game second is the way to go.

The selling of mechs is their prime revenue. They need to keep releasing mechs to keep the game running.

For people asking about the Enforcer, there are a lot of things PGI could do to get the third variant.

Option 1 (Longshot): Use the hardpoints of a later Enforcer III variant but applying older tech, making something like a 3050 ENF-6G . . . but with an X or something after the variant designation to differentiate it from the later Enforcer III models.

Option 2 (Possible): Create their own variant from scratch, making the equivalent of a 1X variant of other chassis, which symbolizes a prototype. We already have them for numerous chassis, like the Cataphract, Blackjack, and Vindicator. Prototype variants were never really released or manufactured in large numbers . . . but we have them anyway in MWO. Although the ones we have are canon, there's nothing to say PGI couldn't just make up a 1X variant for the Enforcer.

Option 3 (Improbable): This pack begins to release advanced tech for the Inner Sphere. HOWEVER, this is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY as it violates both the timeline (horrifically -by a decade or more- I might add), and it also throws wrenches horribly into the works of the balancing they're still doing between Clan and Inner Sphere technology, as it currently stands.

Option 4 (Longshot): The Watchman, a lighter sister mech to the Enforcer, (FOUND HERE) could be used to supply variants to the Enforcer, since it was based off of the mech, looked a lot like it cosmetically, and even shared a lot of the same parts in canon. They could modify the Watchman variants slightly and give them engine, ammo, armor, heatsinks, or other equipment (maybe ECM?) to make up the difference in tonnage.

Option 5 (Highly Likely): There are two potential Heroes for the Enforcer (without getting into Enforcer III variants). The 4R Daniel, which could be called the 4RD as a stock variant, is completely viable with our current tech level. I can certainly see this becoming the third variant. This is especially so after the reception of the St. Ives Blue which, despite being a canon mech, wasn't received well for being a completely under-equipped and un-upgraded variant compared to other chassis and their heroes. Personally, I see this as being the most likely scenario, with them creating a different and completely fictional hero as the MWO Enforcer Hero Mech.
