This is the best AH build bar none. I mean, you can run it with AC10 or LRMs, but there are other medium mechs that do it better.
Zombie Wangs are ok, but I with the current hitboxes I find the STD Hunchbacks much more durable than Centurions, and more difficult to disarm.
Therefore a Centurion should to be fast & hit hard without drawing attention by using lasers.

I dont like like using any engine smaller than 275. There too many other very durable, fast high dps mechs to be toddling around.
Bigger engines equal faster torso twist too.
CN9-AH
its one of the few IS mediums than can maintain 9dps no matter how hot the map is. that my friends is very tough to do.
If you have SRM modules for range and cooldown, this really becomes a demon. Enough ammo to last a battle
I have tried AC20 combos in this till I"m blue in the face, there aren't any. Sacrifice ammo, armor or speed for a dozen boom shots?
I still run the mech in this or the other build I posted.
IF we're having a contest where kill assists count, I run my other build. The single lrm just tags and tags

It can spit out a slug every .204s when elited for very effective suppressive fire. Heat efficiency isn't bad, but you definitely need to cool off after a bit.
This build has a respectable damage potential of 1274. I haven't run out of ammo yet as this would require 130s of shooting.
The speed is right, too. This mech is just a hair faster than the timberwolf, which feels perfect.

If you get that right arm taken off you're done. All one needs to do is notice where 100% of you fire is coming from and take care of it.
I would drop some ammo and at least add one SRM pack.

Runs a little short on ammo, isn't the fastest kid on the block and has a few heat issues, but that STD engine has saved my hide so often. As a nice little bonus, the SRM2s fire exactly twice as fast as the SRM6, resulting in a nice 10-4 pattern firing every 1.75 seconds.
EDIT: Somehow posted the wrong build. Fixed.

You're absolutely right that that's what I'm doing here, but centurions are particularly good at shielding, and reducing the number of ac2s in this case would reduce the effectiveness to being pointless. Besides, if I were going to take 2, I'd take the cent-D with its better cooldown quirk and pop 2 mlas in the CT.
This isn't any riskier than the 3ac2 SHD-2H build that was common before the AC2 nerf, and is arguably less risky than the dragon 1N build which has an arm that's very easy to remove.

AC20 with 4ton ammo, 2 SRM6 with 1.5ton ammo XL 260. Probably my favorite mech to pilot right now. Hang out around the flanks while the long range mechs do their thing then when the targets are nice and soft and the brawl begins you can really do damage.

Kind of a glass cannon, really. But I prefer to keep the AC20 on the YLW.

don't do 2x SRM6, the spread and cooldown make it much worse than 3x SRM4

High armour/DPS ratio, 20 full Alphas and 98kph. Hardly u cant do dmg when ur alphas are 41.5 points and the mech barely overheats really. U can overheat it, but u have to work on that, cause even if u stop during a second due to being unable to aim, u probably cool enough for one more alpha.
EDIT:
My numbers in this mech

I wanted to suggest maybe packing in an SRM6 and LRM5 instead of the LRM15 in there to make better use of those machine gun during a brawl, but I ran into the problem of having 1.5 tons left and nothing to spend them on, unless you're considering a largely unnessecary engine upgrade.

The 155 STD is way too much of a pig for a medium mech. I run my Cent AH @ 79 KPH and I think that's even a tad slow.
But that's like, your opinion.
The trick to this mech is forget that it is a medium and stick with the big slows.
