Regarding the Kit Fox:
  • Most people use KFX-S torsos for the jets, and not the ballistic hardpoint (only 2 crit slots available)
  • KFX legs can be switched out to legs without any JJs.
  • There's no real reason to use the KFX-S torsos if you aren't using JJs. It's a very minor change, since there are *very* few builds using the KFX-S torsos that don't use JJs.
  • As above, the locked JJs are the price you pay for having a torso with better hardpoints
Also, JJs are very good!

Although the post is made "long" ago, I have to asnwer this one:
How many people do u know steering KFX? I guess none, because your statements are nonsense. The KFX-S ST are the only one making it viable for battle when u lost your arms BECAUSE u can/could equip mg/ac2 there. PLUS with 2 slots available, u can put your ammo where the weapon is, which is as it should be: Torso gone, Weapon gone, Ammo gone.

Switching out any part of the mech is no argument. It is about this one variant(!) being disadvantaged.

No reason for the ST? See above. If I want JJs in the KFX, I take/took the legs like with every other jump capable clan mech.

And finally: The locked JJ... The option with the KFX would be: NO hardpoints at all. And please show me any(!) other mech that has to deal with only one slot in a section (except head and ct)

  • You are required to use the JJ on the TBR-S variant - locked on the CT
  • Each omnipod on the TBR is optional. You don't have to use JJs - just switch out the torso for a different one.
  • You have a choice between 1, 3, or 5 JJs on the TBR-S
  • Other variants have a choice between 0, 2, or 4 JJs
  • The locked JJs are the price you pay for having such an awesome omnipod on the torso - other omnipods don't have locked JJs, but they offer worse hardpoints
Regarding the Kit Fox:

what if I tell you all my KFX had those trosi only for the B points? because in a swift light, having 2 tonnage dedicated to 2 MG's and a half ton of ammo is a very nice deal. Now I juts run without the JJ's entirely.

So if this harms the KTF so hugely just do something already suggested for the TBR earlier...quirk the kitfox to make the fixed-JJ rule optional. Problem solved without renewing balance concerns for the heavier clan mechs.

While I'm sure EVERYONE is well aware of the new rediculous feature with fixed JJ's, to those who own clan mechs not many people seem to care. I read an earlier post that had ALOT of trolling, harrassment, and bullying towards 1 player but unfortunatly his post was removed while I was trying to reply.

So here I am calling out PGI on the second worst mistake EVER in the history of MWO, only decideing to make MWO a strictly PVP only game. Yes PGI isnt perfect, they are human, they need sleep just like we do. They arnt cyborgs or we would be in trouble. But they have more than 1 head, they commuincate and they have a wealth of information at their hands, including an enormous player community to rely on who (sometimes-not always, troll-badmouth, have their monthlys-period, social problems and cant figure what they really want from PGI) can help PGI. Yet here I am, trying to rationalize the brain dead idea to change a couple mechs into something that should never have been changed in the way they were. I dont agree with the patch, I never use JJ's even if I'm on the timberwolf. Not sure what other mech was nerfed with perminent JJ's since I just logged in to check 1 mech to confirm.

Not like I really should care what happens to the game but I care about my account. I paid for it, why shouldn't i if PGI is going to ruin something I was confortable with before. Why fix something that wasnt broke? Point is [redacted] the JJ's NO ONE USES THEM ON THE TIMBER! It totaly ruined the build I used to use on it before, no point in having omni LRMx2 on it since its useless now with the stupid JJ's taking up almost half the space.

My Timber Wolf Prime build was enhanced due to the JJs. i now do much better with it than before when i initially didn't realize i could put JJs on it.
2x ERLL
3x ERML
2xSRM6
2xSRM4
3x MG
4x fixed JJs.

It does twice as well as before.

On the Kitfox, It literally changed nothing of my build, its identical, i just swapped the S Legs out for Prime ones. Not concerned with the location of the 2 JJs i had on it initially.

It's a really bad idea just on principle alone.

Problem with the timber? Lets make sweeping changes so nothing changes realitivly.

Problem with PPC s? Lets make sweeping changes so nothing changes realitivly.

If one thing in particular is a problem, and you make the same changes to everything similar, It's still a problem.

Ya I can choose to simply use the Omni S's but I liked using dual LRM pods in my side torso because I could carry more fire power instead of heavily relying on Lazers or Projectiles which I cant use.

You spent $500 on a virtual object but can't get better internet? Where do you live?

Well, to be fair, internet accessibility is less a matter of money and more a matter of availability.
For example, Here in Australia where i live, i live in a nice modern, growing town. But until the NBN came through, my internet was limited to Dialup or at *best* mock ADSL1 speeds using multiple phone lines. Even though i had the money to pay for better internet, it just wasn't available to my area because ISPs suck.

This guy might be in a similar situation.

Fixed JJ's make sense to me, Add a new Pod with 2x Missiles and no JJ capability maybe.

Most of the people I know with "iffy" internet, at least around here, could have better internet if they were willing to pay for the fiber to be brought closer to them so for a couple thousand dollars. That includes my mother, my sister, and several friends that live in the boondocks.

My point is that that option was NOT available to me. Cash is irrelevant, but whats the point of going fiber to a node barely capable of dialup? It matters not how good my line is if the Exchange/Node is worthless.

Anything that makes Timberwolves, LRMs or both less effective is a very good thing.

My point is that most places I know money CAN get you better internet.

Oh, and spending $500 on a single mech means you have money to blow.

Gonna have to work for those bills a bit harder I guess eh

Yeah, that's becuase JJ's have been nerfed into the ground and are useless.

JJ on a heavy or assault is now a waste of tonnage.

I've used a pair of JJs in my timber since buying it; "Useless" is pretty far off the mark.
