1. First in Catapults, second in Black Hawks.
2. For Catapults, I got to the low 2100's using my everyday build (2x AC10 + 4x ML), but after failing to get any more counting matches after the ~2100 mark, despite about ten more hours of constant work, I switched to twin-Gauss and got my last two counting matches in that. The twin-AC10 build is generally superior because of greater speed, DPS, and armor, but the Gauss rifles are better able to consistently hit the same component. I recommend the AC10 build for general purposes.
For Black Hawks, all counting matches were done with my everyday build (6x cERML + 5x cMG). I believe this to be the best weaponry for the Black Hawk in the current state of the game.
Here are the Smurphy links to the exact builds in which I got my counting matches:
CPLT-K2, 2x AC10 + 4x ML + XL300 + 1 DHS + 4 tons ammo
CPLT-K2, 2x Gauss + 2x ML + XL280 + 5 tons ammo
(I don't much care for this build, and would never use it for anything other than a competititon such as this one, where placing many killshots was scored so highly. The Jager does twin-Gauss better in virtually every way.)
NVA-S, 6x cERML + 5x cMG + 2 tons ammo
3. Oh, boy ... not altogether sure of the figures, but I calculated that I dropped approximately 270 matches altogether (half in Black Hawk, half in Catapult). If each match took 8 minutes, on average, including loading & search times (which were sometimes surprisingly long), then that's about thirty-six hours, or nine hours per day. As I wrote
elsewhere, that can't be healthy.
4. Well, I dropped into one match and Kh0rn was on my team. Near the end, he was being harrassed by a Locust, the last enemy 'mech, and I jumped down off of a building to help out the Atlas King. By accident, I landed on Kh0rn's Atlas, which was cored cherry red; I destroyed it by collision! No shot fired, simply a DFA, and I was stuck with the teamkill. This is one of only two DFA kills I've ever witnessed in
MWO, and this one just had to be a teamkill on my buddy! We both had a good laugh about it afterward.
5. Only a few times did I encounter direct competitors that I recognized (Flyby215 in his "Jester" Catapult, Mister D in his Black Hawk), and I don't remember if we ever actually traded shots. However, I was continually facing the top scorers for other chassis, and it was pretty rough. Kh0rn once took me down with a single 92-pt. Alpha strike to my front-CT at point blank range. I was practically fresh, too, until that giant sneeze hit me.
