This post is directed towards those of us who purchased the Founders Pack. We are the few who were willing to make the first investment into MWO as players. We are also the ones that where by far the most ripped off any of and in this community who have shelled out cash this game. To say that what we received was below par is an understatement. especially compared to any of the other Mech Packs presently available.
Pre -ordering any games, upgrades or DLC's of any kind is this present atmosphere of gaming industry is unwise and foolish. But the self promoted hype and carrot waving of most game devs is sometimes very hard to resist. And the result for us was we ending up with nothing but hype.
Had PGI really attempted to put their best foot forward when MWO was first made publicly available. then the Founders contain might still be viable and in use on the battlefield today.
I know it sound like i'm just crying over 2 year old spilled milk. And your right I am. But that point I am trying to communicate is "Buyers Beware". Be patient. Wait and see if we is being presented to you is real, or just hype.

I haven't felt ripped off by any of my pre-order packs. I'm still having fun stomping around in my mechs.

founders got early access to the game and paid for a concept that in theory was good but in execution lacked a little. But with the return of the CN9-AH to the battlefield PGI has returned balance to MWO.

Soo did i understood well and all of the above is just Founder mechs aren't OP ???

Odd i have more fun in my Atlas-D than with the DD-C still luv my catapult as missile platform with the right mix of speed and dmg the Jenner is still an overall light and a quick browse in the forums show a lot of OMG Hunchback 4G quirks are OP NERF!!!

I'm a founder and i don't regret it heck from all the issues you may complain against PGI past and current development crying Founder mechs aren't OP should be pretty back on the list.

Eh? I think the Founders package was a pretty good deal. Four mechs with unique paint jobs, plus extra c-bill earning, a ton of MC, and premium time, plus if you're a legendary founder, you dang near every free mech PGI gives out. I got a CN9-AH, and AS7-S, I'll be getting a King Crab, and probably lots of other freebies down the line. Now, if PGI stopped giving goodies out to Founders, that'd be a different story, but I don't forsee that scenario happening. Keep my free mechs coming PGI, and thanks!

I just feel ripped off about the Phoenix pack because I thought I would have a Gauss Rifle to use on all those mechs in which case I would have used a few, but you can't use the de-sync Gauss Rifle if you aim with a Joystick and PGI does not care that they gave the de-sync the same mechanic as dragging and dropping files with a Mouse and you can't do that accurately with a Joystick. I would not have bought the Phoenix pack had I known this was to happen.

Well I wish we'd have gotten more I still enjoy my Founders AS7 - D and used it to master atlas with DDc and Boar's head which I bought with the 20,000 MC they gave me. Also got the pretty baby *my favorite) and Heavy Metal (warhorn built in).

You can do this if you have one of those joystick and throttle sets. Use one of the buttons on the throttle as the firing button and aim with your joystick.

Or just use keyboard and mouse, which has been the superior control scheme ever since the first MechWarrior game.

Edit: And to actually address the OP -- I've pre-ordered every package there is, and I haven't ever felt ripped off. If I would have had the extra money I would've bought a Gold Khan 'Mech too. This game has been fun since August 2012 when I was randomly invited into the Closed Beta a few days before Founder's day. And it's going to get better.

Think they gave us 25,000 Xetellion, and I don't feel ripped off at all OP. Being a founder was a huge leg up on all non-founders and everyone that's come along since then.

I wish their was some way I could get the Founders package. I missed out on it, I don't feel ripped off pre-ordering anything. I really would like MechWarrior to succeed and become a major MMO game, hopefully they will add a single player campaign that will tell the current events in the game. besides if you want to support the game you buy things, if not, enjoy the free play. peace out!

Its a shame to hear that.
Trust me, had I not been stuck on a hospital bed I would have gladly given PGI money for a founders pack.
While you squander what you have and how you feel, many of us would gladly trade places to get a pack like that.
Just, a thought.

@OP.
Pre-ordering an AAA game is crazy in my eyes, pre-ordering the right to use a single model (or more than one) in a game that has only 3 game modes, so few features and a few maps is even crazier imho. I dont pre-order games anymore (learnt my lesson with the 1st), I would have to lose my mind before I pre-orderered something so menial.
It would be like pre-ordering a set of armour for world of warcraft.

This is the problem. Devs think they will sell more by tricking people into buying their game before they have had the chance to test it or see any of the content, and maybe they are right - they probably do sell more, but it is leading to worse and worse products. I remember a time when almost all games got demos in magazines. It's downright clandestine.

Definitely felt I got a good deal. The only reason I don't play the Founder 'Mechs that often is the same reason I don't play many non-Founders 'Mechs: I need to master out other 'Mechs so play those I've mastered long ago less.

Yet there are many who would do just that, providing the armor had the right stats.

There are those who value having fun more than saving money. Mine would be spent doing something else equally unwise (to the penny pinchers like yourself) if it wasn't spent on MW:O. Generic big stompy robots wouldn't be worth it, but recognizable BattleTech big stompy robots certainly are.

Well, the IS-Packs never contain the very best Variant of each Mech, the Pheonix-Pack even less than the Founders-Pack, but the Value of them was good - the problem is the massive, insane, almost infinite delay of Features that were announced to arrive in a few weeks or months and now it is some years later :D

Lets give the "New PGI" their Chance and play as much fun out of the stuff we have and do not expect a true Mechwarrior Sim, dont expect Mech-EvE but an Mechbased Action FPS with Sim Elements and kind of crude Metagame.
The only thing similar to EvE is the intimidating New Player Experience - maybe even that will be fixed in some more years :P

:D

PS: Thx PGI for all your effort - MWO is still and will be for quite some time the Game i spend the most Money on and have the longest Playtime.

I had early access to the game to test out all the mechs and weapon configurations for free before the official release. I play the hell out of my founders hunchback. I never had to play trial mechs. I enjoyed and continue to enjoy this game longer than most games. I like the premium time that came with my founders package. I enjoyed the extra premium time that they gave us when they reset premium time when people complained about its implementation. In that time period, cbill earnings were not nerfed yet and I accumulated lots of mechs and spent most of my MC to buy bays for them. I've been a part of most of the giveaways. Thats a lot of free swag. I continually see the game improving, especially over the last year. I recently bought $30 in MC for more mechbays that were on sale. I've spent $90 on this game and have gotten full value for what I've purchased. I'm a satisfied customer.

The MC and the Founders mechs... then they bumped the Founders mechs to 30% extra C-bills, its all a win. Have I hated this game from time to time... yup. Cool off, play some other games for a while and come back. The Founders pack was worth it to me, sure they didn't deliver the game they wanted, I wanted, we wanted... but I got something I still enjoy. They need to step up development and give the game some new play styles and bigger maps with AI tanks and stuff but hey, till then why dont ya kick back and buy some more mech packs, you know you want to.
