And, warhorn sound annoying as hell, esp when you hear it 23 times a match. So, let it be as it is, or rather - let it be the only player wearing it hear this trash

Yet no one really had much beef with the Heavy Metal, which had exactly that built into the mech, and it was AWESOME! When that mech was announced, people jumped for JOY because it was COOL!!!!!
Now they allow people to put the same thing on any mech now, and somehow its bad.............

I own HM and there are even times when i want to mute its war horn.

it would be one thing if war horns sounded like epic or cool or anything. but honestly they sound like #$#$ out of all of them HM war horn probably sounds best and it was the first one.

I don't see why it's such a big deal personally, but if people really don't like it then maybe just give them an option to disable the sound in the game settings, and then everybody else who doesn't flip **** about MUH IMMERSION can have fun with it.

These are the Warhorns you want.

See, this is what I hoped Warhorns would be like. Scary and alien. I really liked the idea of huge, lumbering Clan assault mechs sounding their warhorns as they stepped over burning Inner Sphere mechs. The idea that you would lose your light mech scout on Frozen City, and you would just hear the distant warhorn celebrating the first kill of the battle.

Instead, we got warhorns that look like PC speakers and novelty radios mounted in the cockpit, playing dubstep, ice cream truck songs, airstrike sirens and monkey sounds. It's f***ing ridiculous.

It kind of reminds me of what's happening to the Star Wars games and movies. The fans keep asking for a darker, more realistic vision of the universe. They keep asking for this:

And they keep getting this:

Well that is due to all those parents that allow their kids to buy that stupid stuff making said kids the huge majority of the entertainment industry's target audience.

On a sidenote: When it comes to a darker more realistic vision of the Star Wars Universe then Force Unleashed and the Jedi Knight games come to mind. The render sequences of SWTOR also appeal to that side of my Star Wars fanboyism. When I played the first Force Unleashed I always thought: "Hell yeah that is exactly how the force wielders and the action between them should be protrayed in the movies". It really is a big shame that they couldn't realize the planned Star Wars series (i mean the real filmed one with actors and stuff. I have no Idea how you guys call it in English as opposed to an animated series).

To be fair, it's also because a certain number of adult gamers think it's hilarious to run around in pink mechs with silly pirate skins playing monkey sound warhorns with christmas lights and clapping monkeys decorating their cockpit.

If you look at MMOs like Star Wars The Old Republic, you can't just blame the parents and children. A fair number of adults playing that game really loved the wacky silly style. And those who hoped for a somewhat mature approach to Star Wars were left disappointed.

My complaint is that game developers and movie makers always try to please both groups, and insert a few Jar-Jar's into their product just to be on the safe side.

Christ man!!! Scared the crap outta me ROFL

Really? hehehe... I think the ECHO is just awesome on that map.

When they will bring map selection, warhorn haters will have the only option of selecting HPG Manifold where many sounds are muted.

Anyone would like echo on specific maps and add different sound propagation caracteristics to each map for better immersion? Haha I can hear some of you moan already...

Warhorns should be restored to their previous radius of sound. The current settings devalue them and gyp those who pre-ordered the Wave I Clan Package.

Besides, I like hearing them, even when it's because I'm the one who got killed.

Overall, they're really not annoying and are a neat addition to the battlefield. Folks just need to get over it and not be so sensitive. Sheesh, we're playing a stompy robot shooter here; grow some skin!

Likewise we could tell you to get over the range nerf of them and not be so sensitive about it.

When he came back and saw the radius the heavy metals horn had he was quite pissed and left again. This is a case of changing a product after it was delivered.

And continuing with this train of thought ...

PGI, please bring the old war horns back. The Heavy Metal had them. The Clan announcement declared that we would have them. People paid for them with real money knowing fully well what they were getting. And so what you did was a classic example of bait and switch.

There, I said it. I also created a support case for it. :P

Like with just about everything in this game, opinions vary. I happen to enjoy them. I don't know about them being "unnerfed" or whatever, but I like them and don't mind hearing them on the battlefield.

ditto

When Luther destroys the Gond and laughs...

I want his laugh as a Warhorn.

At 0:24...Not only is this one of the most epic sounds in the world, I think it's everyone's vocal reaction to victory and when we take down a mech.
