25. Though I get mad like a 13 year old. I never got to play the TT game, but I had a babysitter when I was little who would paint those little statuette/figurine mechs while I would pour over the technical readout manuals and maps when he was at my house.

20. I feel pretty young I must admit, and thats rarely the case in multiplayer Games. The only battletech related thing I played before MWO was Mechwarrior 2 on the PSX, which I adored back then.

I think its pretty interesting that the playerbase of Mwo is pretty okd in comparison. Thats something I like about mwo, the playerbase tends to be more reasonable.

There is a reason we here at Kong refer to ourselves and the MWO community at large as "Electronic Old Men".

What I "loved" about MC2 is that the AI would never switch targets. So my basic strategy was using a target Raven as a magnet and letting the enemy run through my defensive line. Rinse & Repeat :)

The most awful thing about MW4 is that lance mates would not enter repair bays voluntarily so I had them shut down in front of the bay and pushed them in... and their aim would degrade at the higher difficulty levels making completing the final 4 levels at the highest setting very challenging. Awful, really.

29 here. I got into battletech with really old pewter 'robotech mecha' minis in 1996 or 1995, that a friend's big brother passed down to us. Promptly forgot about battletech for many years, went into 40k, then rediscovered battletech with mechwarrior 3 for the PC.

While I haven't actually played a game of CBT since 2010, I might join in on my guild's megamek campaign one of these days. The 'kids' there (25~ year olds) are having lots of fun with it.

25 tho I started early. On my brothers first computer I started out on MW2 and got sucked into the Battletech Universe. Sadly there is no one to play the TT with in my area, so I stuck to reading and playing the video games :P

38. Started it all with MW2:31st Century Combat. Due to previous crappy internet connections this is actually the first real-time online game I've ever played.

Started with MW2:31CC and loved it. The Archive Holoprojector introduced me to lore and got me hooked.

I started with the books and Mechwarrior 2 in the nineties...

Exactamundo moi.

When I used to still do game dev, I was also briefly involved with Battletech: Total Control, making 3D meshes and textures for the isometric projections.

36. Started battletech with friends in 1992, but only played tabletop off and on until 1998.

MWO is the first computer installment of the battletech universe I've tried.

seems the forum community is at least mostly 30+. that doesnt say much about the whole playerbase though.

I'm not ashamed to say that I'm probably the youngest of the lot here at 18... it no doubt comes through some of my ranting and replies. :P

Despite that, my first MW game was still MW2:Mercs due to a lack of a decent computer when I was younger, then MW4, and then began the obsession with the TT. Though I've never actually played TT physically with another person because BT is a franchise sadly under represented within my age group.
