OK, so use the b arms... then you add 3 erml and 2 srm4, what you have now is a fast light mech that has a firepower of 37... I destroy assaults all the time with this or swapping the srms for a pair of lrm5s
Don't use the ecm unlenss you absolutely have to, and for the OP complaining about the hard mounted CAP (clan active probe) Why shouldn't a 25 ton mech carry scouting equipment, and now that it counter-ish's ecm, I run it on nearly all my mechs anyway, this one I do not have to worry about.
I have had much success with the mist lynx as both a support and a scout mech, but then I also know how to run a 2d commando with a stock sized engine and not have any problems.
For those who say IS lights are better because they move faster... not true, they just throw parts farther at speed than clan lights do when blown apart... the higher speed is not a requirement for a light mech and if you think it does, maintain a TAG laser at 150kph plus on a moving target... point, set, match...
my point and it is proven is that you do not have run a mech the way keyboard cowboys claim it should be run, I run my mist lynx as a light brawler, and guess what, for all its fragility, I get multiple kills, 300+ damage rounds, and in all, I am quite happy with my angreh kitteh... if you aren't, then practice piloting it, because it is a fantastic little mech
On to the Ice Ferret, what is not to love about a light mech with much more armor on it? point again made.... really guys, shouldn't have wasted your money on these mechs if you were unsure about them before hand... I KNEW I would like them, since the clan wave 2 contains 3 of my 5 favorite clan mechs, the mist lynx, Ice Ferret and Hellbringer, paired with a Warhawk and Griffin IIC would be the perfect rounding of the clan mechs for me... now if I can only speed up time and get the GRF IIC and my Templar chassis IS OMNI mech....
the issue with the cap and JJ's simply is it restricts the light, its only 25tons and now having those fixed tonnage is just taking away possibilities or alternate loadouts you would like to enjoy. Wanted a blue wubwub on it, felt like I have to sacrifice too much armor for it. Being able to remove the bap would have been nice givign a vital tonnage its a lot for a simple 25t mech.
And thats where we come into why most clanlights suck: they are very much defined what to do. You can not just make them the way you want, even with those omnipods. I mean 4 tons of that mech are bound to fixed equipment.
thats 16% of its weight.
I can not make a 2 CERLL sniper of it, because of that.
You can not even give it 4 CERMPL, by that tonnage, nor by the clan heat would it be able to cool that.
That why it sucks, its basically already very much bound to what it can do if you dont wanna tear down a significant and unhelathy amount of armor. Some Sidetorso pods without JJ's would have been nice at all, probably also an empty head pod.
