Can't remember which show it was, but I saw the Mechwarrior 2 intro movie on TV one day and was enraptured. Of course, I didn't get a computer capable of running the game until years later, but I ended up getting Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries. I can't even imagine how many hours I spent on that.

I'd also seen the 90s cartoon a few times, and I was aware of the tabletop as well as the 16-bit console games.

I didn't play much of MW3 because it wouldn't run on my old 486, and by the time I'd finally got a new PC I couldn't find it anywhere. My friend had it though.

But when MW4 came out I definitely went nuts on it. Good times blasting Daishis with my Cougar.

Strangely enough I started playing a MechWarrior game on SNES. Then I graduated to MW3 and MW4 and now here I am. Although I am likely very very rusty.

I had only heard bits and pieces of Mechwarrior over the years, but it was disgruntled players of a certain other game that kept mentioning this game and the universe, so I had to eventually check it out. Boy, was I missing out.

I pray for forgivness from the Mechlords and fully admit my fail.

I started on Mech Commander back in the old days, where you picked missions for c-bills and bought mechs. Then when the PC got to fast to play it, i lost my mind and started on Dungeons and Dragons...
Then came Mech Commander 2... Yea Yea i played that hundreds of times....

Then lastly i played the table top game several times the one from FASA where you fill in all the dots when you got hit.

Played mechwarrior 2 and mechwarrior mercenary 4 were fun but I was young still got this feeling inside that I had to come back for more MOAR.

So here I am Praying for a good fun game, with flamethrower to over heat those annoying novacats and there thousands of lasers..

A friend of mine was big into computer gaming, so once I got one of my own ( or I should say family's own), he told me about MW3 and I was hooked. I never did catch much of it it, but I do recall bits from the TV show, even had a couple of the action figure/toys ( a Bushwacker and Elemental I think). After MW3 kept playing the various games and really got into the books, which I may need to reread to brush up on the various lore aspects.

In 1995 I bought an IBM desk-top and mechwarrior 2 was in the games bundle. Remember when you used to get value from your purchase, like extra game cds and stuff from your pc purchase? anyways I was bitten and caught the mechwarrior bug, have all my titles including expansion packs and the machines that run them, I'm playing mech commander gold this very moment. on windows 95

Way back in January 1985 I meet a future friend. I say future because things didn’t work out.
However we did start playing battle droids as it was called. Once a week for about 6 weeks.
Then our schedules changed and even thought we occasionally saw each other we weren’t in the same crowd and didn’t get along. This lasted for 3 years, he graduated and moved on with his life. In my senior year I asked out a girl in class one year younger than me And after the movie I took her home and ran into her brother. the same person I played Battle tech with “curse you George lucas”.We became great friends going on 24 years. Now we work in the same building for the same company. Never did date his sister again. But it all started over a few games of battle tech. oddly enough I moved in with his sister 8 months ago.

Started out playing TT BT back in the 1980's, had both of the crescent hawk games, played them on the Amiga 500. Old they may be but i would still like to play for its turn base style, Missed out on MW2, didnt have room aboard the ship to set up a computer. By the time I was on shore duty again MW3 was out. Got MW4 & mer's. Now just waiting for open beta to begin. Come on Aug 7th.....

That's spooky. I have almost the same experience. Nice to see someone that has actually used an Amiga and a fellow "Squid" to boot!! ;)

Played TT in highschool, never had a good computer so always missed out on games when they were new, remember somrthing about "Crecent Hawk" running around a map, Mechwarrior 2 was fun but it must have been late cause i could never the multi-player to work.

I have been waiting for MW-O for a long time, even giving up EVE for it.

LOL... ah the Amiga... the good ol' days... then again, I still remember my TRS-80 I started out on... even still have a Commodore 128 sitting in my storage, pretty much everything still in it's original box... Have some fun sometime and get yourself a C64 emulator for your PC... lol... talk about "dumbing" your computer down... but there are some good C64 Roms available online to play...

I started when the first Battletech PC game came out. It ran on an OLD IBM PC (8088, EGA Screen), I was about ten. Then a friend of mine showed the Board game when I started high school I was hooked ever since. I got a group of eight friends and would have weekend battle tech fest. Where we would alternate between the board game and playing Mechwarrior 2 & 3 multiplayer all weekend. My favorite mech to play with was a custom overhualed Locust 2C that I modified to have a ER PPC. I have so many fiends that hated that mech lol

My Dad had a copy of MechCommander, and I fell in love with it! I had completed it when I was 7, and I remember the ending cutscene being amazing! Unfortunately, I didn't touch it for a couple of years, and then I found it free on the internet, so I downloaded MechCommander 2. I tried that, then got the free download for MW4:Mercenaries, and I was hooked!
