There is 100 ton assault the clans will fear when they meet it, the Devastaor with 2 PPC, 2 guass, 4 med lasers and also Sunder, Hauptman, ad Blackhawk KU. The KU is going to be really nasty. Imagine a Clan Blackhawk with IS med lasers 10 tons heavier with better cooling. That thing may have to be toned down a bit.
Hauptmann is going to be NASTY. I loved that Mech in MW4, best Assault by far IMO, and it also looks like an indestructible juggernaut. Seriously, aesthetics went out the door when designing the Hauptmann, it's just all business all the time.
And that business?
DEATH.

Hauptmann is going to be bad, as will all IS Omnimechs with XL engine, because they get an IS XL you can't take out.
BTT, I freaking love the Loki. You fear the 5SS Wubberbolt? Well, imagine it faster and equipped with ECM:

A bit more restraint is needed because of a slightly lower HE, but this machine can bring the pain! My go to build, though I hate leftover tonnage.

Ah, but you forget that long before the Hauptmann comes out, the Night Gyr, Arctic Cheetah, Turkina, Ebon Jaguar (Cauldron-Born), and Huntsman come out to play. All of which are MASC free. All of which are bloody terrifying, especially the first three. 75 tons, 38 tons of podspace, hardwired jump jets and near max armor. 30 tons with ECM, 9 tons of pod space, and gobs of hardpoints. 95 tons, jump capable, with 42 tons of pod space.
Most were listed in the 3058 TRO, but in lore and in universe 3051-3052 is the dawn of the pocket-assault Clan mechs.
The tears of the Inner Sphere will flow.

I think that's what's going to keep it back from being one of the best mechs in the game. That, and the fact that it's 10 tons below the weight class limit.

But the Timbie only has 4 extra tons over the Hellbringer. 10 tons heavier, with only 4 tons extra, and it barely manages 81kph. Endosteel on the HBR would bring that advantage down to 0.75 tons (6.5 tons standard, 3.25 tons Endo), and FF would reduce that to... Hell, lets go with max armor, so ~13 tons or so, bringing FF savings to 1.56 tons.
Meaning the HBR would actually have a weight advantage of 0.75 tons over the TBR. Despite the Timber being 10 tons heavier, of course. (it's actually 0.81 tons, but that's pedantic... the difference between 0.75 and 0.81 is 2 points of armor.)

4 tons is relatively significant, especially when you consider that the TBR has more tonnage to play with and has more armor, plus two of those tons from the TBR are built in heatsinks which you will very much need on a clan mech. If you assume that the HBR is going to need a 15 heatsink minimum (which it is, since it can't boat uAC10s/20s/gauss) then the TBR has six tons on the HBR. Either way, I don't think ECM is so powerful at this point with BAP how it is that I would take ECM in exchange for 50 points of armor, 4 tons of pod space, two heatsinks, more hardpoints, and much better hitboxes. If the HBR had that extra ton and a half, it would be a much closer call.

Just give the HBR Endosteel and fix the CT hitboxes. The HBR also has a myriad of functional builds, and incredibly useful hardpoint placement going to it too. The TBR requires a certain set of builds to truly shine, but from what I can tell, the HBR can shine with just about anything. Plus, it has not only a cockpit with AMS, but a cockpit with an Energy hardpoint. (FRIGGIN LASER BEAM ATTACHED TO IT'S FRIGGIN HEAD)
So really, the TBR just has HS and a little extra tonnage going for it (if you add Endo and stuff, that is).

I don't see the HBR being a great sniper, but I guess I don't know how high the ST energy points are exactly. It's really hard to say how it will end up since hitboxes are probably the most important single characteristic of a mech and we don't know what the HBR's are actually supposed to be; if they come out a lot better, the HBR will probably wind up being just a notch below the TBR/DWF/SCR trinity but a cut above; if the hitboxes are still awful, it will remain barely better than the WHKs and ADRs, but nowhere as bad as the NVA/MLX.

Did you really mean 3 CLPLs on the left torso and 3 ERSLs on the arms? Or did you mean 2 ERPPCs on the left torso and 3 ERMLs on the arms?
