Hi everyone,

I'm just curious how old my fellow Mechwarriors are. Many people in this forum seem to be BT table toppers, so the average age should be pretty high for MWO. I've personally never played TT but have read most of the books starting in the early nineties. I'm 31 years old and play this game mostly because I like Battletech so much. And all the guys in my unit are well above 30. Is the whole MWO community 30+ or does Battletech still attract younger people as well? Just curious..

Greetings,

Donnerkeil

I'm 22 years old, I've been playing Battletech flavored mech sims since MechWarrior 3 came out when I was six. I didn't really get into the franchise until MechWarrior 4 came out in the early aughts though. I've always wanted to get into the table top game but it's hard to find a group of people where I live who play anything but Dungeons and Dragons or Warhammer 40k.

Physically 37 but my wife would argue my 7 year old kids have more mental maturity.

I never had the pleasure of playing the TT but I remember reading some of the books back in the 90's. Since discovering MWO one Friday night at the beginning of 2012, I have now read all of the original classic BT novels, as well as the Dark Ages novels.

I believe the only digital version of the game I played before MWO was MechAssault on the original Xbox.

Im 24.

First time I ever saw Mechwarrior was when I was like 5, my dad was playing MW2 31st Century, I grabbed like a Kitfox and commenced to die. Also played TT for a few turns once. Fell in love wiht hte MW2 Vulture simply cuz of it's awesome blockiness....never really understood the modifying loadouts or anything, but always found Mechwarrior to be awesome.

39 (mentally 134).

I find Battletech an insanely dull and unimaginative universe and I fall asleep every time I try to "read up" on a wiki; it's so childish and generic I wonder why people actually like it. But I liked MW2 that I got with my Matrox Mistique (aw... so cute 1996). Played all PC games ever since with MW3 the nicest in terms of atmosphere and "storyline"; MW4 was ok, MC1 was ok, MC2 was terrible.

I'm not a fan of online gaming (other hobbies) and I got into MWO by telling colleagues how nice the MW games were and now most of them have moved on to games that are actually well made, functional and have good graphics; but I still like the mechanics of MW(O).

Ill agree, MC2 was pretty meh...I still play it, but compared to MC1 and gold, I find it to be very meh overall..
