Now Atlases are obsolete haha.

I think that´s true. Don´t have a KCB, but "they" (most people ""defending" the KCB as not being slightly OP and obsoleteing the Atlas) say an Atlas can tank better and is faster...well, 1 KCB alpha takes off one arm, but most of the time it takes out a torso, and if you look at this:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a0446d6cf2ca1be

Not the uber alpha as with two ac20s, BUT as fast as an Atlas, much better long range hill humping and still very good at brawling...so, Atlas who?

Make Atlases the only assault that can go prone...problem solved.

How to fix this whole problem.
step 1: Sell all your Atlases
step 2: Buy Banshees and/or Stalkers
step 3: wub everything with your now functional assault mech.
step 4: realize you can bring mechs other than 2 locusts with your new assault mechs.
step 4: be thankful you didn't keep that pile of ****.
step 6: learn to count.

The thing is the KGC didn't obsolete the atlas because the atlas has already been obsolete.

By introducing the KGC, PGI has sent us a clear message, you are a fool if you have spent real money on any Atlas. The chassis has now been phased out and if you don't want to be stomped, cash out for KGC.

It will be coming out for C-Bills sometime soon, though it will take a few weeks at the very least.

Something that wouldn't just help the Atlas match up to the KCG but would provide more value to mechs with lower arm actuators in general would be to have a key command that would allow them to extend their arms, in essence moving arm mounted weapons to be at the height of their shoulders.

This would allow mechs like the Atlas to raise their arms up to have a higher origin to their arm mounted weapons at the cost of lifting their arms above their side torsos and exposing them to fire. If another downside is needed to prevent this mode from being just turned on and left on all the time you could have arms limited to 0 degree lateral movement, exchanging lateral movement for the higher placement.

I think it would be cool if this happened when you locked up a target with the R key, the arms move up to 'engage' the target. If this was used only on certain mechs (like the Atlas) it could be a useful tool in increasing there usefulness.

As far as the Atlas being obsolete, give it a role as a damage sink. Make a new quirk that gives it a straight 5 to 10 percent damage reduction across the board, allowing it to absorb more damage than any mech in the game (at the cost of the firepower the other 100 tonners can carry).

I (and I'm sure others) posted up that idea before about the Mummy style arm option but I don't think it's a good idea to make it mandatory when targets are locked. What if the pilot wants to keep his arms down to torso twist/shield?

A better idea would be to allow a toggle to raise or lower the arms...the missile bay door key would work fine, since the Atlas doesn't have bay doors. This way, you can choose to be offensive and shoot over hills like a Jager or shield your torsos with the arms down by the side.

The reason why I would rather it be under control of the player through a separate command is because it gives player choice to that. Meaning it gives awareness and adds another thin layer. Get a better angle on your target with your arms and you'll be removing your arms from the position needed for torso twisting.

Man makes you wonder what the MW gaming world would have been like if they had been able to make MW5 instead of MWO. Makes me want to cry seeing the Warhammer in a game. Wish Harmony Gold would stick to real estate and give up on being the Unseen boogie man.

For Atlas to be competitive it needs armor quirks.

I'm afraid there is only one thing we can do for Atlas at this stage......

A fabulous burial ceremony.

"My Atlaieee was a gentile giant!!"

"The baddies asked him to raise his arms above his head, he couldn't....So they shot him!"
