KGC's going to have its own problems. Can't wait to see light mechs using his back as a landing pad and just ripping him up from there.

I believe the quote is:

"The King Crab is just a landing pad for a Highlander."

Since when does an Atlas pack more firepower?

Most KGC builds are going to focus on the ballistics. Because of this, most Atlas builds WILL outgun most KGC builds. It's just a matter of looking at the damage to tonnage ratios of the weapons.

My AS7-S. Note that leg armor, cooling, and ammo have seen small compromises. 74.4 alpha, 5.83 sustained DPS, 27% cooling.

AS7-S with stock engine and bigger guns. 103.6 alpha with 5.22 sustained DPS and 20% cooling.

Both those builds run hotter than hell. I know, because I've tried both of them. The firstcan barely alpha two times with master skills without overheating, and the second can only manage one. There are simply not enough heatsinks on the second to make sense. I really want the Atlas to be competitive, but it's being left behind without more quirks. It's a beast when caught in close quarters, but it's too tall for it's own good.

The King Crab? Those high weapon mountings are amazing. The short, relatively small size, the arm quirks, the incredible yaw; better than ANY assault in the game? It will take a lot to convince me this mech isn't the best IS assault in the game.

4 Energy Hardpoints + 4 missile hardpoints = a great opportunity to not focus on ballistics... the King Crab comes with many options.

Note - Especially when all 8 of those hardpoints are high-mounted, which supports hull-down warfare. No exposure, no problems.

Fixed OP images with all three variants.

Is there a delay when firing a ballistic with the CLAMPS closed? The video doesn't really make it clear.

Also, can we get an overhead shot of Skuld? We still haven't gotten a really good look at the loyalty crab's roof.

And dare I say... Use the huge opened claws as shields? This thing has endless potential as a brawler.

All the awesome stuff...

Phenomenal video, showing us how the (awesome) hardpoints and handling are in real battle, check.

Fanstastic comparison shots, showing us how surprisingly awesome the frontal hitboxes are, check.

Amazing screens of loadouts, making me squeal like a vapid pre pubescant little school girl unrolling a new one direction poster, check.

If I had more likes to give, you'd have them all. Great work.

Good thing I'm not some stupid alpha monkey, right? I barely use the CT lasers, they're just there as back up guns. Hell, I avoid the arm lasers if I can, too. Still runs hot, but I've managed to do fine with it.

Correct. It was meant to be a bit over the top. And I'd honestly never play it, too hot and too slow for too little benefit.

I appreciate your remaining cool about the criticism. That first build is actually identical to how I mastered my AS7-S. It's a good build. My take is that the Atlas just needs buffs. Especially armor buffs to keep it the legendary wall that it has always been made out to be.

Right now, the new King Crab looks like the single most heavy ballistic boat the IS will have. It's outrageously good and adaptive. The specs and stats look incredible. I just don't want a mech that I own a hero (an expensive one) and 4 variants of, to be left in the dust.

So which variant(s) do we get from the player loyalty bonus? And please...if it's the one with that one paintjob with the yellow ropes or whatever...please let us choose the default skin for that ugly thing.

But yes. Hyped to hell for this mech. Great work guys.

Jesus H. Chirst almighty, a 100 tonner with 10 hardpoints that can torso twist 120 degrees.

Desperately bad piloting by cattra to make the crab look like it could eat all assaults alive for advertisment purposes, check.

Yea although I do think the Crab will be a great assault, im not going to believe its gonna be a direwolf killer, because you gotta remember its not 1v1 in a match.

1v1 vs bad Atlas, Warhawk, and Direwolf builds? Can we get a real 2 out of 3 fight with the King Crab and some of the meta Direwolf builds?

But is it before or after unlocks? Because if before, that's totally nuts.

That's with mastery according to the screenshots.

Edit: Something isn't quite right... doesn't mastery show as a "+" value?

I had to double-take on that. The atlas only gets 80 (160) while the crab gets 120 (240)??

The increased twist angle from twist-X is included on the stat cards?

True, but at least I have an indication. I've piloted enough mechs to take what I need from the narrative. Also helps that the build it faced was garbage.

What I was after was the positions of the hardpoints - the lasers are fantastically high, and the arms seem more than workable.
