So as the title says who here can't wait for CW and all the Spawn camping to commence? Who ever controls the oppositions spawning points will win. Unless spawns are random, but I don't see PGI making that decision correctly.

I think players should be able to manually select their drop location within their team's territory, and maybe even drop themselves directly on top of an opponent's head if that enemy is within their "spawn" area. Steel Rain!

If only there was some sort of heavily armored flying craft that came in bristling with weapons that could make it extremely dangerous to hang out nearby a spawn point...

They have said the drop ships will be armed. If you really want to give away the free damage, camp away.

Dropships can annihilate even assaults within seconds. You do not want to get close to them.

This. Anything that can mount an Atlas' drop-weight in PPC's is something to give a VERY wide berth.

Also, some dropships have exhaust plumes that can outright melt assault mechs in seconds. AKA: Weaponized exhaust.

Yeah, even the littlest (Leopard??) dropship would be a serious problem to try to camp. Forget the larger ones, don't even try. And that's without tapping all the "naval" class weaponry available to the larger warships.

"Hmm.. The enemy force has camped the LZ!"

"No problem, swing the NAC/20's around and flatten the entire area, then launch the dropship."

Drop camping is a non-problem if the designers choose for it to be.

So in other words you just wanted to complain? You want a solution to spawn camping, are given a great one, then complain about how you can't spawn camp?

Seriously? Did this just happen? Can someone confirm this happened?

Actually it will be fun, since the solution to your question was already answered. You seemed concerned that spawn camping would basically ruin it, and then found out that it can't happen and now you're upset by that too.
I'm confused..

You do know that drop ships can only carry naval Missiles and not any other Naval weapon system?

Quote

[15 October 3069; MRBC] Although they seem to have regular WarShips aplenty, the Word of Blake is not content with conventional power. Using the largesse of Terran factories and unknown sources of supply, the Blakists have turned harmless commercial hulls into deadly, hidden instruments of mass destruction.

So-called “Pocket WarShips,” these refitted DropShips have their cargo capacity gutted and replaced with capital missile launchers capable of flinging ship-killing missiles against orbital or even ground targets. The Word has taken great lengths to make sure the outer appearance of these DropShips is unchanged—during flight or buttoned up in the launch pit these vessels look identical to standard, harmless commercial shipping. Much like the ancient Q-ships of Terran history, the only way to find out if a vessel is a Pocket WarShip is to test one—and very often, the teeth a Pocket WarShip bites back with are enough to protect itself.
This fear has driven extreme paranoia across the Inner Sphere. Reports have been received of crowds rioting and looting commercial DropShips even rumored to be Q-ships, killing the crews and displacing the cargoes. While local authorities have done their best to confirm the identity of every DropShip when its lands, the threat remains that one of the many commercial craft struggling to keep interstellar trade alive may turn out to be a dangerous imposter.
