Any tried it with 4x ultra ac5? and a standard engine? Dont want to waste cbills for them if its not that great..

Running right now
std300
2xGaus
2xERLaster
,
Seems to work ok, A little more dakka would be fun, but maybe hes to slow for that?!

As I talked about before, 4xUAC5 is indeed devastating if you set it up to automatically double fire with fire control. Even with jamming, it averages about 30% higher rate of fire. I have out dakka'd suspecting dire wolves on many occasions.

Here is the build I usually use for it. Sorry if there are errors... I used my phone to put it together.

That said, I think dual gauss is more efficient and can lead to higher kill and damage rounds. You can play it like a big Ilya with those independent arms, only with the huge boost given by having a couple ERLL or LPL to back it up.

Either way, I love the King Crab. It is the first assault I feel truly at home in. And it looks so damn cool!

Yeah, I don;t know what I was doing when I put that together. your build is way more efficient haha. December is busy season for me. so been working like 60 hour weeks. My brain must be scrambled.

IDK about 'way more efficient', all I did was make a few minor modifications, the weapons used and the placement of those weapons are the same. I really like the load out, and without your post would not have come up with it myself. Props to you my friend!

These things will totally make me forget about my atlas assaults rusting away in their mechbays. So much easier to play AND they are 87% XL friendly..... again a 100 ton assault that's XL friendly. I'll keep ripping off dire whale arms at my leisure :) just wish i could play more than an hours or two a week. This the first mech that I have played in a LONG time that actually makes me excited to play MWO. :)

That's my view as well. I own all Atlai but the AS7-K, (skipped for obvious reasons) and I can't see a reason to take them out again, except maybe the DDC or S.

The Crab is smaller, more XL friendly, (if that's your thing) and can run anything an Atlas can, but with more hardpoints.

The 20th of January can't come soon enough.

You have a premade team? this build isnt for you, but if you pug, this will give you enjoyment while you level it.

I dont find it xl friendly, its slow, thats makes it a target and iv lost sides quite alot.

My latest build isnt about max damage, but being able contribute.
The missile and laser placements are perfect to lrm with tag/PPC support.

(LRM WITH TAG PACKAGE)
Tag
ERPPC

2xLRM10
1AC20
Std325

So alot of times a light or medium will try solo you out, AC 20 is perfect defence combined with ERPPC.
Ecm wont stand in your way for lrm and tag helps for missiles, especially if you like me dont have extra mod slot yet and the crab is tough enough to take a hit or 2.

This build would be much better on an atlas. The sole reason to bring the crab is big ballistics in both arms. If you're not doing this you're wasting you team's time.

Unless you got ecm its no difference than in an atlas, that I dont even own.
I soak damage just fine and It has better hardpoint locations than the atlas for this build.
Its rare to get such good tag/ppc location on a mech, aswell as high missile slots..

It has alot better win ratio than many other mechs i got, so im doing something right :)

I could use a sanity check on this build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ab8abc1cf706396 (2xAC5, 3xAC2, UAC5)

I wanted to see if I could populate all of those 6 ballistic slots without resorting to using machine guns and downgrading my engine to something ridiculous. I would try this myself, but I don't really have the cbills to throw at an odd-numbered XL engine like that. Well, I do, but I'd rather go through all the other builds I have lined up for it before trying this one. Might have a bit too much ammo too and I'm not entirely convinced the extra couple of KPH over the all-too-common XL 300 is worth the cbills.

In one hand: sweet, sweet dakka. On the other: a potential deathtrap with so much ammo with a slow XL engine?

I just wish AC2s were viable still. I'd throw six of them on this in a heartbeat...

Oddly enough, my as7 k has been outperforming the others. I placed a larger in it and it has done wonders alpha striking mechs to death with two medpulse, two med lasers, srm6 and ac20.

Rolled out my free one this weekend and was very pleased

KING CRAB KGC-000(L) = Shake n Bake

Endo
DHS
BAP
4 UAC5
2 MPL
2 SSRM-2

Split arms into group 1 and 2 then MPL and Streaks on 3. MPL and SSRM for close in defense and BAP lets me cut through all the stupid ECM so streaks will lock on. Was most amusing to see Dire Whales backing up from the fire. Without any pilot skills was very impressive be evil once I get the xp to unlock stuff.

Problem with this build, is if you fire your left and right side at different times, the AC2's can buggily trigger ghost heat when they shouldn't :-/

I am in the same exact boat! KGC come out smack in the middle of my works busy season...

I sold all my atlai but the D-DC over a year ago. only liked the D-DC for it's brawling ability + ECM. Never really liked the other atlai that much I guess.

^^ well with a 3 mo old and full time work AND school full time *whew* MWO is on the back burner for now. I just page through the forums to get my giant stompy robot fix lol. I REALLY wanna do a quad AC5,ML and streak build. Have a 2xAC20 3xML and 3x SSRM2 on another i wasted come MC on and i like it better than my (L).

WITH an XL 330 or 340 and darn near full armor I think

Dual Gauss might be more practical but I am having fun with this build.

The 2xPPC 1xAC10 has a nice snap punch, uses all slots, max armor, a healthy DPS, and runs STD. Intended as mid range/brawler. The 25% torso turn quirk helps swing around and give sneaky lights a what for.

Broadside (360 XL)
KGC-000B
4 AC5s that reliably pummel targets from a safe distance, and can still maintain good damage output while within brawling distance. The 3 medium pulse lasers are for that extra punch while within range.

Broadside 300 STD
KGC-000B
It is possible to drop the medium pulses to medium lasers if you'd prefer to carry more ammo.

A very good suppressive build (Often do upwards of 700 damage in pubs with the std 300 setup)

Karkinos (360 XL)
KGC-000(L)
I'd assume that if you'd like to move to blast things in the face, y'know, with big bad guns, this would be the way to do it. Tons of crit seeking, and you can keep up with the pack if you have speed tweak.

Karkinos (300 STD)
KGC-000(L)
I feel as if this is the brawliest of my bunch.

I've not found a build I'm super comfortable with for the 0000.
