The Griffin would be my top choice, tough, quick and agile, and loadouts either suited to long range direct fire support, or all-around fighting in the laser config.

It's on that choice and above that my absolute favourite mech. So it should of course be the Shadow Hawk. Fire Support at all ranges and one of the mechs, able to do all what is ment.
It is not the brute fighter it's a mech you can use for all kind of play. Normaly you can lead the fight with this mech, because every type of Lance can use one and at least it can jump a bit.

Ok it shouldn't be more than one of the standard type in a Lance, but the one can help at every range met enemy in battle and doing damage.

Good Looking it does, too. From my opinion, so.

I am looking forward, if it would be in.

I have a huge fondness for the wolverine. Long ago, at a local game convention. I got into a city fight with some clan mechs in a game of tabletop. I had the version with lasers and not AC's....it took about 5 hours, but by the end of it I had downed three times my weight in clan mechs and annoyed the crap out of the other team before they I got taken out. was well worth it.

I have nothing against quads ... but I would rather have the Wolverine over all the others.

I'd love all of these iconic mechs to be re-added and I remember reading somewhere that all of them are now reseen. I voted Griffon.

i prefer the griffin. as a medium lance command mech is awesome at its job.
though i tend to use the varient without the ppc using a lg laser instead

I have fond memories of painting the plastic Griffin in the tabletop game. And it suits my style of play of sniping.

Wolverine all the way.. except i would have the 6M (3050 tech 7M) with the LL instead of AC5

Wolverine is pretty much my fav mech of all time. The base model isn't terrific, agreed, but 5/8/5 versatility with simply amazing variants is fun. -7M with twin ER LL and MASC...that's pure delight.

I'd be happy with any of the three, however. Although I don't understand the Shadow Hawk love as much; I get the nostalgia factor (it was on the cover of everyones first rulebook, after all) but that thing is a steel coffin. Its weapons systems are all over the board and do not compliment one another, it's WAY under armored with too many ammo tons in the torsos, and the inferior jump capability is rarely useful.

Like I've said before though, any jumping medium would please me. Even an Assassin. Or a Phoenix Hawk.

The -2H was definitely not designed with a min-max mindset. I would have dropped 2 heat sinks, added 2 jump jets and another ton of armor.

Still, I agree that "Its weapons systems are all over the board and do not compliment one another,' but I see it as a good thing in a medium. I consider mediums to be floaters, hopefully able to fill several roles. A varied weapons system on a mobile platform compliments the pilot. He gets to go where needed, and do what needs done.

Sure, it can be taken too far, but with something like the -2H, I feel like I have options. With the Griffin GRF 1-N, I know exactly what I'll be doing, and I know that I'm not much good at any other role.

Still, just a personal preference.

i voted griffin got to love the all or nothing load out and with jumpjets its kinda hard to keep it to deep in its min range. the wolverine is my 2nd choice because it knows its role and sticks to it rather well. the shadow hawk to me has always been like a swiss army knife...thats made of plastic. it has all the options but are they really any good options? srm2,lrm5,med laser, and a ac5. thats alot of stuff but its almost all bottem of the barrel.

I'd totally go for the Shadow Hawk, that was Grayson Carlyle's first ride with actual firepower (as opposed to the locust he had earlier).

I would like to see the Wolverine, it is even more intimidating than an Atlas, because everyone knows you shouldn't **** off a mech that carries a purse

Nice.

Wolverine was always one of my favorites, though mostly the latter variants with Rotary AC's and such.

Project Phoenix is where the Shadowhawk becomes a true workhorse design to me. decent look, solid design, weapons flushed out.. and no XL weakness.. with a 5/8/5 move. Except for the Rotary AC and the Streak SRM 4, the rest of it is 3050 tech.

Shadow Hawk or Wolverine...

Dragon was originally designed to be a shadow Hawk replacement which is why weapons loadout is similar. However, they are both great platforms with numerous varients.

Wolverine is inspriation for the Hellhound...(go checkout sarna.net for details). I play it in tabletop and megamek and its flat evil and capable of taking on heavies and assaults with the jumpjets. I think it could be very effective in MWO.
