Guys, let's drop the political debate, as it is derailing the thread even more so. This discussion (which I should emphasize has remained civil for a significantly longer time than expected) can be continued in the form of PMs.

only if they have a reasonable belief that those words would actually cause "lawless action", which is to say 99% of it doesnt apply here.

Hence why I guess players have taken this matter into their own hands. Matter to be resolved with through aggressive negociations.

More tea will be needed I think, and bandages, spare parts, coolant, ammunition ............ :)

@Noesis, Clan politics do not happen behind closed doors, they do not carry veiled threats or innuendos, they are open and expose the unworthy at their very core for example:

I Star Commander Alecxei of Clan Wolf hereby challenge you Noesis of Clan Ghost Bear to a trial of grievance for the offences and constant bickering you continue to cause here in such an unclanlike fashion, if you and your unit are indeed honorable and you are not here to simple rouse the troll you can not refuse this challenge.

Now if you are indeed a clan politician, as you profess and claim to be by your continuous provocation, then you know exactly the implications of this challenge, as well as the implications of your acceptance or refusal.

I await your response.

lets be perfectly clear here, our other option would be to keep chewing through FRR (which we are doing at quite the pace) until we hit the steiner border and then attempt to reach you guys that way. if we were successful, we'd effectively cut wolf off from both steiner and frr attack routes, meaning theyd only be able to attack cgb or cjf. i wonder how that would go.

This secondary option is still based on the premise that you can control which planets are available to you.

You are correct. It could be tried and found that no good path exists. In that case the planets in question could just be fully consumed again with little contest. It is after all, just an idea/proposal at this stage.

Well, I'd bet that Clan Gummie Bear would end up getting attacked by CJF, Steiner, Clan Wolf, and Kurita all at the same time. That is just dumb. "We're going to piss off everyone in CW, and fight on more fronts than we can actually defend, even though we /think/ we can defend all of these planets"

It's tactical suicide.

I will accept your challenge purely in order for you to see that I'm not afraid of it and that it might be fun to participate. Maybe we can have a cup of tea afterwards to discuss things in a more civilised manner?

But you need to understand that the Dark Born do not identify with the terms of Zelbrigen as we are members of the Dark Caste, so the outcome will have no bearing on my ability to offer opinion, nor will it therefore have any determination on the amount of butthurt some people take offense from in terms of being unable to accept the truth and then have to resort to acting out in this way in attempt to save face.

So win or lose it will not effect my forum posting, but I guess might make you feel better? So I cannot lose from participating in this Clan "formality" as result so I will gladly accept your challenge/ritual.

Question is will you accept my Trial of Tea (battle of wits) and be capable of being civil in diplomacy and discussion to determine the outcome of things or will you simply continue to having to resort to more darwinistic attempts to try and make your point caveman style? To some extent I could take your need to have to resort to a Trial of Greivance of you already failing the Trial of Tea as it seems you have to resort to other means to make whatever point it is you want to make.

Had you then also observered a genuine need for a Trial of Greivance in spirit of being offended then I would also recognise that more sugar might be provided for the tea. But seems you might only want to be comforted with lies as opposed to the truth of these matters.

I believe that more tea will help with efforts to sustain more "relaxed" relations amongst the factions. And I believe it would also help if more people could appreciate its social empowering properties. For instance Clan Wolf units might be more aggreable to suggestions about allowing CGB members to travel accross borders if they learnt to sit down and have a cup of tea together to better understand the aims involved? Which is a more civilised approach to the topic material in my view.

The tea campaign will continue then as an effort to allow more sustainable social relations within the factions. In fact we will be smuggling various herbal infused products around the IS to help with these very interests. Croquet game sets will be awarded to those organisations more receptive to helping sustain constructive social narratives with each other as a recognition of their efforts with diplomacy to achieve their aims.

As such the first Croquet set will be delivered to the MS alliance in recognition of their efforts to educate certain elements of this community about the importance of the social narrative and respecting others.

Wait are we spiking the Tea? I'm so in lol.

This topic has really gotten off topic. I mean.............wow. First of all, you guys do realize this is a trial run right? Everything gets wiped in March & CW gets officially launched.

According to the last town hall, not necessarily. There was talk of the "beta" tag lasting until summer or longer and no promise of a reset; Russ said they would poll the players.

The way things are going I'm sure the IS would like a reset.

I'm not speaking for Clan Wolf, but from the replies, it looks like they aren't going to cede planets to you.

You'll be doing that alone. so, good luck. none of the major groups will go against the ceasefire.

But MS have the most planets on the board? So please define major?

Besides I thought that the CNC Alpha where allied with CI due to their future associations with the SLDF from Lore? Are you not interested in honouring these allied interests?

You know, if there are a few CGB that want to attack us, they can always shame themselves by joining Steiner and trying to help them and the entire IS defend their space from us. Just a thought.

having most planets doesnt really mean anything since they dont provide anything atm. I mean by CGBI and etc.

Also when will you learn, Lore doesnt mean a thing in this game's universe since we are able to change the course of battletech history. Who and what we ally with is only up with us and not what happened to make sense in battletech.

Having most planets proves that they are the most effective organisation on the board right now.

---

And I now understand CNC Alphas position then with not wanting to support Comstar or SLDF affilaited units or their allies as a result due to not really being Nova Cats from lore (though of course these are future considerations), but this also concurrent with your choice of corridors and associations.

So I admire your tactical deliberations even if you aren't really then representing the ideals of the Nova Cats. Which I guess could mean you might aswell call yourself anything like a Merc group that does what they like. Pretty much like the Dark Born or the various Merc groups representing the Clans whilst following their own agenda?
