So after a little over a week now of playing with the new CW beta and struggling over the same planets day after day after day, one thing is starting to become very apparent: CW appears to be a Zero-Sum Game. That is, at the end of the day the 'perfect' balance between IS and Clan mechs combined with an overall balance in numbers and quality of mech pilots in all factions means that there can be no sweeping invasion or even 'slow crawl' invasion of the clans into IS space.

Those of us in clans have no distinct (let alone slight) advantage in attacking the IS worlds in MWO as it's implemented now. In the original game lore, the sweeping success of the Clan Invasions was due to superior technology and MechWarriors. Since we have neither worth noting, I don't foresee any way for the clans to "shove in" to IS space in any meaningful way. We like to think we're the better players but how likely would it actually be for the clans to recruit all of the best MechWarriors in MWO along with none of the worst? Ultimately our clan units like CGBI and CWI have absolutely no control over public players joining our factions and taking actions in our name, and we have no control over the quality, direction or coordination of such players (or even other units).

I simply don't see how a clan invasion is likely or even really possible given the current rules and balance of the game.

Also, has anyone noticed how House Davion is pretty much just annihilating everything around their borders? How does PGI intend to maintain any semblance of faction balance?

That's strange...

The guys I drop with have beaten up several Davion units on a regular basis...

I knew it was goign to be kind of boring as soon as they said they were never goign to reset the map. They only planned on balancing it with increased contracts cbills. As of now i dont see anyone "winning" more than maybe 25%.

While it's true that a lot of player outfits are currently bound/contracted to FedSuns, the current momentum of battle (as of last night) was actually going against Davion. The alliance between Marik, Liao and Kurita forces has had a definite negative affect on Davion advances. Of course, Kurita will eventually be forced to look back to its borders with FRR and CSJ, allowing Davion to turn the tide again, but I'm really not seeing the problem with the playerbase dictating the flow of CW.

I guess where they specifically said they would reset as needed doesn't count?

Seriously, do you even bother to read up on information before you comment on stuff?

Because you get Goonswarm mentality that goes like this: all of the IS houses decide to gang-up on the clans and push them out of the IS (because you get Goonswarms and BoB getting together to eliminate a bigger threat) and now you have a really ******* boring game with a ton of disenfranchised players who quit and stop giving PGI money. Which means you won't have a game to play anymore. This is not like EVE where there's always "CareBearLand".

Ermagerd look, its the clans taking over things faster than the actual timeline.

In the lore it takes weeks to charge jump drives between planets.

Here, were moving along about a planet every 2 days.

I'm just pointing out your uninformed posts before someone else who also doesn't read thinks it's fact. I'm correcting misinformation and it's got nothing to do with you personally. I do it any time I see someone posting inaccurate information.

Its been a week. Right now CW is comprised of "Hey it's live LET'S GO!" Pretty sure that will change as houses/clan/merc units stop thinking they are the only ones that can make a diff.

In regards to clans having a superior advantage so MW:O can follow lore. Was it supposed too?

If the IS wins counted as losses "because lore" wth would be the point?

Have you even played eve?
In eve nowhere is safe. If you think highsec is safe then you really havent played eve.

You do realize mathematically at that rate, theyll be at terra in 63 days.

When it took 2 years in the timeline, to get to Tukkayid. About half the distance.

nah, PGI really isn't listening to this kind of stuff when it comes to CW and it's great.

They are, however, listening to the record breaking numbers on servers, the overwhelming amount of positive feedback in general across the board, and not making knee jerk reactions.

CW will shape up nicely I think

You guys are idiots.

Few days into CW they already started balancing the contracts. The only way something will happe is if they let it happen.

At that rate how long would the clans take to reach terra?
Cause i only got a little over a week left with my contract to clan wolf so i'd appreciate it if all clanners would hurry up
