I personally feel for the next IS resistance mechpack if PGI only picked one 40 tonner it would be the assassin. Just because its opposite of the cicada, and has gotten a lot of love in the past vs some of the other 40 ton choices.

But for the rest of the pack it will probably be the Mongoose, Black Knight, and Cyclops. Also they might try to squeeze in the Mauler just cause as an bonus

I'd be stoked with Assassin, Vulcan or Dervish.

Dervish no, please. We have so many 55 tonners already...

Assassin, Vulcan or Sentinel would be a blast.

Scorpion isn't just 4 legs, it's time line variants too.

Problem with all the quads, till around 3060, is either unseen, or only 2 variants.

So even before the mechanical aspects, it's out of luck as a quad.

Plus (for me anyway), it would just seem wrong to have 4 legged mechs in the game.

Quad leg mechs might be BT, but they don't feel very MechWarrior to me.

Might/would make a nice AI unit.... Very distinctive profile and easy to code from an AI standpoint versus an omnidirectional mech used by players.

Quads would be fun certainly, I rather like my tarantula in TT.

If I ever move past 3050ish in TT to the next TRO, I might get more, but I don't care for the look of most 3050 quads.

That said - new locust tomorrow : D
Gonna spend that £1.30 straight away.

I agree the class is top heavy, and it would be my 3rd choice, but Dervish coulda been so much better than the Kintaro we got instead. In a lot of ways it would be an even more hardpoint balanced version of the GRF-2N we be getting tomorrow.

That's OK, honestly, always found the Wacker a little underwhelming anyhow....think it's popular for it's looks more than anything. We gonna go all "Future Tech" Medium, gomme my Uziel, pls.

Bushwacker is a special case... it's a star from MW3 (starter mech, I guess) and the Battletech TV series, so I hope it will make it when we do the first time leap (about 5 years in the future).

Bishop, can you please, please give me a an answer about what makes the Uziel good, other than "Its tHe best Mediumz I uze in MW4!" babble I tend to get when ever I ask that question...

I've looked at it's stats and it's just so average, nothing really stands out... Kind of like the Bushwacker, nothing really special.

Uziel? Another fan favorite (because MW4). Hopefully in the 2nd or 3rd time leap (mid-3060s).

The Uzi has high-mounted hardpoints and JJs. Plus, it's also faster (6/9 vs 5/8).

It looks cool and unique, that's why we like it.

If the devs really want money, there will be a pack something like this in the future:

Thanks Fup, for finally giving me an answer on it. It stills falls into the "nothing special" catagory for me, it's more or less a 5t heavier Phoenix Hawk stat wise... and honestly, I'd rather take the lower BV / c-bill cost of a Phoenix Hawk.... Not to mention a crap ton of variants by 3050 too....

great mobility, decent armor, well balanced hardpoints? it's a 6/9/6 mech with 2 PPCs, an SRM6, 2 MGs and BAP in the "real" (aka not 3067 tro version). That translates into a minimum 6 JJ, 107 kph stock 50 tonner, with most likely a Missile Hardpoint in the CT, 1 Ballistic in each ST and 1-2 energy in each arm. It's also possible they'd go 2 ballistic per torso and 1 energy per arm. Regardless, for a non minmaxxer, this is a pretty solid set of hard points for a Medium mech, IMO.

Also, it looks pretty baller compared to what we have in game so far. The 3S version that is the main TRO one, has what...4 energy hardpoint, a ballistic and the missile? Again, not a bad mix.

Yet we have no PXH because HG.

Suggested time leaps:

3054 - we get the Wolfhound, Bushwacker, Devastator...

3060 - we get the Hellion, Nova Cat, Blood Asp...

3064 - we get the MW4 mechs: Osiris, Uziel, Arguns, Thanatos, Fafnir, Hellspawn, Chimera; and IS omnis: Avatar, Sunder, Hauptmann, Templar..

True, and it makes me sad...
