Curious stuff:
- MWO started the closed beta in July 17, 2012 with 4 mechs (Atlas, Catapult, Hunchback and Jenner)
- since then, more 62 mechs were released, roughly 1.5 new chassis per month.
- that means 2016 might add up to 18 new mechs to the game.

Which will be the 2016 mechs? Here are my guesses:

- Clan Battlemech pack: Piranha, Conjurer, Black Python, Kodiak
- "Phoenix Project II": Wasp, Phoenix Hawk, Crusader, Longbow;
- Possibly Stinger and Valkyrie to round up all Macross Unseen;
- Origins IIC 2: Urbanmech IIC, Shadow Hawk IIC (or Griffin IIC), Rifleman IIC, Marauder IIC; (would prefer the Wave 4 first)
- Resistance III: Flea (would prefer the Javelin), Bushwacker, ?, Cyclops (would prefer the Charger);
(and for the beginning of 2017)
- Clan Wave 4: Fire Falcon, Black Lanner, Night Gyr, Turkina.

So, make your lists! Let's see who calls better.

I agree with most except Res.3. For Res. 3 I'd put: light: Flea(also prefer the Javelin)
Medium: Assassin because Russ stated on Twitter he likes the idea of the Assassin
Heavy: Anvil or Penetrator because I've no clue what's probable here but I want one of these two.
Assault: I hate to say the Cyclops but it's probable. (Wtb Nightstar, Charger or Pillager)

Hopefully they say no to the Flea & Cyclops.

Oh, I didn't know about the Assassin tweet. Cool! I really prefer the Assassin (Bushwacker can wait for a later pack).

Well in Russ' own words, "the Flee is dead to me." So I think it's s safe bet that it's off the table as far as light mechs go. I'd love to see the Stinger or Wasp as a new 20t mech....

Sounds great! No Flea! Hopefully the Failclops will follow it.

cdlord is still clinging to the Flea :). I have a feeling that IF the Flea did ever happen, he would create posts of joy throughout the Forum a long with I told you sos lol.

I would assume the Flea would never happen, but if it did, it would be interesting to see the reactions on the forums.

I think PGI planned the Flea before being sure about the release of the Locust. Since the Locust got in, the Flea is pretty much obsolete (same looks, same tonnage, same general loadout, slower speed, etc.).

Besides, we will get at least one new 20 tonner (Wasp) and possibly another (Stinger).

The Flea being left out of MWO doesn't bother me and I understand why PGI chooses to leave it out. I just know there are some die hard fans holding out for the Flea.

As a side note:
One good thing about quirks is... Even if two mechs are very similar in loadout, quirks can be assigned to make them play very different. That is one reason why I don't think the whole "another mech can do the same thing" is a good reason to leave a mech out. It can be tweaked to accel at different areas through quirks to make it a different animal. That said, the Locust and Flea are so small that even with quirks, your build options (and therefore quirk options) are limited in making them more unique.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we'll see the Kodiak. Short of the most popular of the Unseen that's probably the mech I've seen crop up most often in various "Could we please have my favourite mech?" type threads. I'm pretty sure PGI knows they can make plenty of money on that mech from the clan fans.

The Beowulf started production only in 3057...

I've completely failed to keep track of where PGI is going with the timeline and honestly haven't got a clue what year we're supposed to be in.
All I recalled is that we are in the 3050's somewhere.
A man can dream!!

I wanty!

Also I'd plunk down $$$ for the Coyotl too, PGI would have to make a third set of omni pods for her... Maybe a ballistic set up....

You said it right: slowly.

A light mech at 86 km/h? Cougar might be great in MW4, but it would be bad in MWO. :(

Well, Panther is even slower. And I run a 67 kph Urbie with some success. Posted Image
