And the coming Clan Mechs are most likely just the result of slowly but surely exhausting the Invasion Clan Mechs. Scraping the bottom of the barrel now. We are nowhere near that when it comes to IS Mechs.

The issue is that the post invasion era clan mechs were 98% vanilla builds as were those of the IS
To create almost perfect mechs within the TROs become really a bad habit.

Take for example the Falconer you can't create a better Mech - it is the absolute apex of IS Heavy Mechs without introducing new tech.

But the other issue is - we don't need more Mechs - when MWO started the Hardpoint System was a great invention it keept somehow the flavour of the Mech - but today we have multiple Mechs per tonnage.
So it is only the question to bring Mechs with a unique hardpoint layout.
The BSW with 3 ballistics in 3 regions might be unique but its weight of 55t will make it unlikely that you run anything bigger then 3 AC5s and still keep some speed.

The Spartan or Charger in all their might hardly bring something into this game that can't be done with the Victor or Zeus (with exception of the speed)...remind me that the Spartan might be the loadout for my PB

If CW was actually fun aside from temporary distractions, more mechs could be useful and add depth to the game. It would require enough mechs filling similar enough roles so that factions could be locked into specific chassis or variants of chassis, as was likely in lore. For example, a Hatamoto-Chi for Kurita while the Charger would be Davion, or the Cataphract being a Capellan mech with the Caesar being a FedCom machine.

Blasphemy! The Charger is Kurita and Liao, not Davion. ;)

Oh. Well, I just assumed, considering it was an assault mech designed to scout. The lack of autocannons should have given it away. :P

Steiner does Assualt Mechs as scouts... Davion uses Locusts.

or the Bandersnatch, Pillager, Gunslinger, Thunderhawk.

They did mix a few stinkers in here and there, and the non updated 3055 TRO had quite a few "Imperfect" Mechs. It was more TRO 3058 and beyond that the Vanilla arrived in full force.

more mechs at this point, do one thing.. pay the bills.

Well, that and allow us to pick and choose our "skin of choice". If I have the choice between making a Thug Clone, or actually piloting a Thug, the purist in me will want to drive the actual Thug.

did you just conflate Davion and Steiner? (despite Hansel attempting to do just that with Gretel in 3028...)

Good point. Maybe we should get cute stuffed animal masks to wear... help keep everything straight, with those Smoking Cats, Jade Jaguars, Ghost Wolves, etc.....

Also make Halloween a lot easier to get ready for.... (and would you believe this obviously in fun conversation would be moderated over at the Battletech forums? Lol)

Meh, this faction flaming is more fun. By the way, it is said that Steiner likes using Assault mechs for everything. Compensating for something, are we?

I may add that every single engagement between Lyran forces and Jaguars invariably ended with the Jaguars' defeat. Posted Image

Would not know. Though I share the same corridor, while a Nova Cat's fangs bite hard, all a Smoke Jaguar's efforts are akin to is a pleasant breeze. One that one would expect on a tropical beach on a day far sunnier than their typical disposition. Posted Image

Edit: I am rather entertained by the decapitated smoke jaguar icon I have. I find it deliciously ironic. You know... considering the lore.

Corrected. Thanks. Gotta love autocorrect. Posted Image I bring it on myself. I'm too lazy to lift my finger so I do the swipe to type thing. >_> Which is also why I edit the heck out of everything I post.
