Sorry buddy, but I will have to let you down. My HDD fried last week, right on the deadline for a project. Lost 20 years of digital stuff and I'm still trying to pick up the pieces.

That was my newer HDD, where I kept everything "safer" and separated from the OS hard drive. No, no backup for the 2 TB.

Lost the source code and materials of my mods (since Quake 1), lost my stuff for Battletech and Mechwarrior (including my templates and art) - luckily I got most of the finished ones in DeviantArt, lost my texts (I used to be a poet in my young years) and the book I was writing (which I would probably never finish, anyway), lost my pictures and videos (including those of my kids)... well, the list goes on...

It looks like it's possible to try to recover the data, but it will cost a (big) money I simply don't have right now (nor in the near future).

Hmm, I'm kinda disappointed there isn't Light AC2/5, Hyper Assault Gauss 20/30/40 and Protomech AC2/4/8, but otherwise it is a surprisingly good selection of new weapons and equipment.

As for the mechs... I'm seriously tempted to drop a load of cash on those.

I only pulled those weapons as confirmed from the load outs, who knows what else is going to be released... as it stands I suspect that the weapons will be for C-bills at the same time that those packs are introduced, other wise there would be a serious, and credible cry of Pay 2 Win...

Still I might c-bill the Cougar... always loved them.

I think the HGR won't invalidate the AC20; it is likely to have worse DPS, combined with being 4 tons heavier (and less ammo per ton).

Rocket Launchers I'm kinda worried about; to balance them having only 1 shot, PGI might to give them massive punch. Which could lead to 'zerg rush one shot' meta.
Hopefully PGI just decides to make them a niche used to fill unused missile hardpoints instead.

Stealth armor have negatives like heat buildup and takes some space, it supplements ECM mechs and make those withouth ECM choice a stealthy alternative equipment.

heavy Gauss Rifle could be balanced against AC 20 by having a longer cooldown, the charge mechanic can be a little longer. No worries.

The AC/20 was already headed to the bin, thanks to the UAC/20... But the HGR does 25% more damage up to 180m out, then does the same 20 damage out to 330m, that's 60m more of 20 damage shot than what the AC/20 gets... so at 271m to 330m it does more damage... I'm not sure I would consider the HGR a sniper weapon like the normal and light gauss rifles, it's more brawl oriented so it should not require a charge mechanic, perhaps a long recycle.

Speaking of the UAC/20 (and 10 for that matter), I wonder how PGI is going to implement them... if they go the lazy way, then there could be much QQ about single shell shenanigans... And there is precedent for it thanks to the IS UAC/5, or they could go the Clan route, but they can't make them too much worse than the Clan versions other wise they are overly nerfed.

In my opinion (and hope) since I have several AC/20 builds between my 'phracts and Cyclops, having the weapon become outmoded would be highly disappointing. I'm assuming the HG will have the same charge mechanic as the current version does or it will be slightly lengthened. That will make things acceptable In my eyes but we won't know until it goes live or unless they open up the PTS for testing prior to it.

I am interested in the ultra version though and wonder how much more effective it could be. Same goes for the LBX20.

I suspect the IS UAC10/20 will fire in bursts of 5 damage shells, which will result in the regular AC10 and 20 retaining some niche role (in addition to 1 ton lower weight).

As for the HGR, we don't know how it is going to be. It might not have damage drop off like the TT version.
