Hey, I was looking the Piranha hero and is only me or does it reminds the painting scheme from the old Battletech card game?

It is showing up here, but it's not the first time I post images from that site and they don't appear in this forum.

Apparently the site you're using has 3rd party hosting blocked, and trying to follow your link to look at the image results in an Error 403: Access Forbidden from tradecardsonline. I'm guessing you have some kind of membership to the website, or are trying to pull up the image in a different fashion when you get the link? Either way, I'd suggest finding somewhere else to get images like that, which you wish to post.

I made it simple: 1 clan, 1 is and 1 not going to happen or nostalgia (Vulcan, Hatchetman, Nightsky - heck the Nightsky would be nice even without its 4ton cleaver - simple add a flammer 2 MGs and a AMS and call it a day

That quads are on the list at all is silly.
It's a wasted space, being there's physically no way they'll be made.

The truth often hurts yes.

You know I want them, but you also know why they won't be made.

So, I bought the Uziel. Although I firmly believe it was one of the worst possible choices to spearhead the FCCW-era in MWO, I never hated the Mech. On the contrary: I am a fan of medium Mechs, I am a fan of cavalry Mechs, I am a fan of House Steiner, and I am a fan of Defiance Industries. Of course it would find its way into my hangar.

And what can I say... it is fun. It is bad. It is pretty much what I expected. I mean, there are objective weaknesses, especially the geometry, and everybody with more than two brain cells knew about them as soon as the Uziel was announced. Without Annihilator-level quirks it will never be competitive.
However, what makes the Mech so much fun is also its (sole) strong suit: the mobility. This thing really moves. I am absolutely enjoying every second in the cockpit of this Mech, even though I have to be extra careful. If you feel comfortable with a Phoenix Hawk, the Uziel will not disappoint. I am not saying it is an efficient Mech, because it simply is not, yet it can be rewarding if played to that lonely strength.

So yeah, it is a bad choice of a Mech, but even if I tried I could not hate it. Actually I am more upset by the Steiner paint scheme. That is hardly recognizable as the parade paint scheme of the Lyran Guards. Too much white, and waaaaay to much gold (which, at max, should be used for small highlights).

I need to buy mine and try out (as promised). Any suggestions of builds? (PS: I don't like PPCs)

It's certainly possible. However, an asteroid colliding into Harmony Gold's headquarters or an earthquake destroying their building in Los Angeles is more than likely before we get quads, since Russ has an odd distaste for quads for some reason. I'm curious to see why he despises them so much to the point where he calls them circus mechs. Perhaps he has arachnomechaphobia?

Well, PPCs would be my first choice... Posted Image
You have to keep in mind this Mech has zero staying power, any facetime means death. So I want to shoot and be gone. PPCs, ACs, SRM and pulse lasers seem like the best options. Also, I think the stock 300 XL is a good choice. Much slower and this Mech makes little sense; much faster and you cannot carry a significant enough payload. You might be tempted to use a LFE, but ask yourself what amount of speed and what firepower you sacrifice, and what you gain in survivability from it.

This is really my personal thing but I do not believe this kind of Mech benefits from LFE, its design and quirks are relatively consistent in that it is a cavalry Mech. You outrun what you cannot outgun, and outgun what you cannot outrun. This can work, and with the Uziel's mobility it is fun too. It is not a good cavalry Mech, mind you, but I fear trying to force any other role on it will generate even worse results.

PGI is actually on the right track with its quirks however they need to improve the offensive qualities to make the Uziel the glass cannon it should be. (Currently it is more glass than cannon...). Of course they could just give it massive armour quirks but that is not the character of this Mech.

Actually it isn't.

Aside from Russ explicitly stating they're not interested - the simple truth is they wouldn't be economically viable to make.

It would be as much, probably more work to make quads than Clans.
Requiring a different movement system, crit system, 'rules' system, and a completely new 2-3 animation skeletons.

6-12 months work for a reasonable chunk of the team to implement Quad mechs. Likely cost of 600,000 to a million dollars.

The options you'd have for release right now:
Tarantula (IS 25T)
Blue Flame (IS 45T)
Bishamon (IS 45T)
Stalking Spider (IS 50T)
Scorpion (IS 55T)
Barghest (IS 70T)
White Flame (IS 70T)
Goliath (IS 80T)
Sirocco (IS 95T)
Great Turtle (IS 100T)
Xanthos (IS 100T)

Snow Fox (Clan 20T)
Fire Scorpion (Clan 65T)
Thunder Stallion (Clan 85T)

14 total.

Spoiler

Now, this would be on top of the standard pack releases, and would then, need float income for 2-3 packs / 6-12 monthly packs, covering the regular earnings AND the overhead from developing the things.

I love quads, I do despite all their flaws, but I also completely understand why we won't get them unless some madman goes up to Russ and hands him a half mil cash and says 'this is yours if you make quad mechs'.
