It's a shame PGI didn't do a battlemech/omnimech pack though (like the Arctic Wolf, adding the Lupus variants in the reinforcement pack).

You can definitely see where the Sun Spider got a lot of it's modeling. That being said, it's a weight class that could use a Clan Battlemech and like the SNS, it's really going to shine in torso-focused builds versus arm mounts. The 290 max engine on some versions might be irritating if you want gotta-go-fast, but there's bigger engine versions you can play with too. And the 4E/4M reinforcement says "I want to be a Mad Dog, but I want to be able to tweak engine/endo/ferro in my build".

Gas removed the Flea and Hellfire and added a few new chassis so be sure to hit up the poll and re-vote.

I think there should be more 85 tonners. It seems like it's such an underrepresented weight. Same with 95 or maybe I just wish there were more faster IS 85 tonners available.

Fastest 85t mech you are going to find will be 4/6...

Lu Wei Bing
Rampage
Sasquatch (LOL a whole lot of NOPE with a 425 XXL engine!)
Templar
Templar III
Wakazashi

Those are the ones that fill your speed requirement of being at least 4/6, that are not currently in game at least... regardless of what tech may or may not be in game that they use.

I would buy the Rampage immediately. It is as fast as you can get with 85 tons (as far as MWO is concerned, if given the regular engine cap), has MASC and good hardpoints. Very much to my liking.
I also think that extinct chassis are fascinating, however their inclusion would not be terribly lore-friendly... As much as I like the Rampage I have to admit it is not exactly FCCW-material.

Realistically, the Templar would be the best choice for a fast 85t Mech. (The Gunslinger is very nice, but not fast).

Any of them! All of them!

Yeah I know about those but they're either extinct, out of timeline or Clan.

Like I said, they are the ones that fit your speed requirement, regardless of tech or era. I never said they were good to go for MWO.

Pretty much. Basically all the IS 85 tonners are meh that we could realistically expect for MWO

The reason is that 4/6 is as fast as an 85 tonner normally gets, barring MASC or a supercharger. (the 425XXL is way in the range of experimental-holy-guacamole-its-expensive tech). That's because you can't get past 400 normally, and the highest evenly divisible by weight is a 340 engine. Standard engine 340 is basically the same robot as something in the heavy range in terms of payload. Maybe a bit more armor and structure. Most IS 85-tonners go with the far more efficient weight-to-power 255 rating, maybe with jump jets as it yields a lot more payload for the weight class.

Clanners being Clanners, they could just go with the XL and that gives us gems like the Marauder IIC, with the IS attempts being hamstrung by a ST-kill engine in things like the Templar. The IS doesn't get it right until the Lu Wei Bing, a century or so after the IS tech revival. :)
