The other part may be spinning the potential obscurity of their selection into a bit of gamesmanship.
Well played, I'd say. Better to take the initiative in community engagement.

If it was the IS month, I would agree. Did someone say the Raptor? If not, that's very sad.
But I think it's a Clan mech. The trend calls for the Fire Falcon, but since they are asking, they could be testing waters for something more divisive, like the Turkina.
The Clan mechs I'm really looking forward are: Fire Moth, Fire Falcon, Rifleman IIC, Bane and MW4's Hellhound. And the Turkina? Yes, just for the looks.

PGI might go back to releasing several Mechs of the same faction in a row. I may be wrong but I suspect there is also a slightly greater number of highly anticipated IS chassis (from MW:4, MC:2, and 3025/HBS BT, plus Omnis).
I still think it is likely that we get a Clan Mech in June but it is not set in stone.

Funny you should mention the Rifleman IIC. No particular idea why, but I'm really warming up to the idea of having it in the game.
Probably the "unique" design asthetic, combined with the upright bipedal gunboat profile. Then again, there are a lot of ClanMechs I'm interested in, particularly from the ranks of second-line chassis.

This Mech would be so nice with JJ. ...which brings me to the Brigand again. Slightly better hitboxes, better hardpoint distribution, and those JJ. This would be a dream.
Anyway, lacking both a 20t and a 25t IS Mech with JJ is just mind-boggling considering how many Mechs we do have.

On the other hand, does the term 'Clay Pigeon Shooting' mean anything to you?
Because apparently ***** is censored.

If they were planning the Stinger/Wasp pre-HG, that'd fix it in a hurry. The Eagle is also just within the tech timeline range as well.

Aka the classics. Nothing wrong with them.
If it weren't for that HG lawsuit, we could have gotten Stinger/Wasp instead of the Flea ...perhaps. A tiny 20t humanoid Mech with jump capability would be fun and even viable.
And they would look amazing, which is important too. Those designs just beg to get an MWO-model.

Or the Nexus but it does seem like the Brigand is more popular. Either would be great.
