Its already a better mech game than the ones that came before it, so why not have faith that it will continue to get better?
Well... better is relative. At the time I think those games were better then this in comparison to other games out at the same time. Earlier mechwarrior games had enemy AI and destroyable buildings, both clearly not implemented in MWO. Further those games had a story, MWO has no story for the individual player and is just piggybacking off of a specific timeline.
I'm not saying MWO is terrible, I am saying it is limited in scope at the moment and too far driven by profit instead of by passion. Hopefully, with enough time and player investment IGP will be satisfied with their return and PGI will have enough resources to give us an impressive amount of features, features that really should have been planned on being put in the game from the very start.
I've been gaming for 20 years and it is a rare company that wants to spend any time and effort on innovation and MWO's design spec is far from innovative. What they have done, they have done decently. We currently have a mechwarrior sim counterstrike clone that is enjoyable to go and shoot things up in, that is all, anything more will require far more time and will likely wait until after the game goes gold. The only thing you should expect and DEMAND is a certain level of polish on what we do have. A proper lobby system, a proper chat room, properly support tournaments, and proper variety in maps and mechs, these are the things that are NEEDED. I don't even list Community Warfare just because it is an extra. An important extra that helps keep people interested in the game beyond just how fun it is to play.

You could have saved some type work if you said that earlier.
So James said it in German in just one episode. I'm guessing that you will be asked about it a lot in the future.
Edit; Anyhow, this is getting OT.
Most fans of Top Gear know of Captain Slow.
