Thoughts?
Hussar sucks in terms of hardpoints;
Crab is a very cool looking mech but with very boring variants;
King Crab... could wait. I would prefer the Banshee first.

The real questions is what is the next mech they are going to announce? The cycle is broken! Therefore it could be a Light, Medium or Assault!

Kuritans hate medium mechs with passion (just look at Panther and Dragon to understand).
And Steiners don't have any notable mediums at this point in time.
As far as Davion lights go, they either use RVN-2X they have shelved from the 4thSW (not 3L), Commandos provided by their Steiner pals or an unseen Valkyrie. So that's also a no-go.

I thought this was a house marik mech?
It is, but as with just about any Marik design, it is spread over the whole Inner Sphere.

DISCLAIMER - This list is to give us an idea to go on for the next medium. We have strong contenders and this is to help narrow it down.
Given the list the ones I see the most are the Hermes II, Assassin, Vulcan, Crab and Enforcer. The Kintaro and Sentinel also appear frequently as well.
I'm going to revise my prediction and hedge my bets on the Hermess II or the Kintaro being the next medium. Though I would still like to see the Sentinel.

Good points. But those variants are not necessarily all the time wise variants. Just those used by the factions. There could be more variants available.

I thought they had 2 HBK factories to the Mariks and Kuritans 1 apiece? Not a Raven-for-Liao strong association, but it's more Lyran than anything else.

actually, in lore, Marik and Kurita were the biggest users of Hunchbacks, if memory serves, in fact, it might be the closest the DCMS came to an "Official" Medium.
Regardless, what I don't get about all this is why people seem to feel the need that each Mech be assigned a specific faction, or each faction to be equally represented (when in the game they are not equal). Heck, where are the FRR faction mechs?
Some Mechs, like the Commando, Valkyrie, Raven, Jenner, Panther, Hermes II, Vindicator, Enforcer, Dragon, Zeus are strongly faction oriented.
The Rest? May be more strongly represented by one House or another, but tend to be too widely distributed and "common" (or in some cases like the Clint, too uncommon) to be considered faction oriented.
Unless and until PGI puts out an official list (which they might if CW holds any resemblance to the original plan) it's all pretty much blue sky anyhow.

The thing about us Freeworlders is that we sell mechs to everybody, even to our enemies.
At least we know what we are fighting against (and make money in the process).

For the Enforcer (as distinct from the later Enforcer III), those two are the only timeline-appropriate non-unique variants.
(There are then the "hero" variation of each variant, piloted by Daniel Waylen from McKinnon's Company.)
Though, the Crab gets by variant-numbers-wise thanks to the CRB-27 (basic/default variant, circa 2719), CRB-27sl (non-Royal Star League era variant, circa 2750), and CRB-20 (downgraded tech variant, circa 2810).
(The lower-case "b" in the CRB-27b designation indicated that the variant was exclusive to the SLDF Royal Divisions - the effective-totality of which left with Kerensky.)
Personally, I would expect either of the Dervish or Kintaro (to fill the 55-ton slot), or any of the Sentinel (well-rounded, weapon-wise), the Assassin (common in-universe, fast, and jump-capable), or the Vindicator (heavily-armed for a Medium 'Mech, iconic to the Capellans, and jump-capable) to be implemented before either of the Enforcer or the Crab.
Thoughts?

Almost any other heavy of the era would have been a better choice. Guillotine, Grasshopper, Lancelot. The "3 canon variants" is ridiculous. MAKEUP one. Pull one out of an old FASA product and use it. Use a Royal variant. Have the guts to put out an re-seen. Many of those have significant numbers of variants.

Thinly armored: -do you know the mechlab?
Overengined: -always an advantage in this game.
Jumping: -is good to have that option.
I`m actually happy they picked up the Quickdraw instead of the Guillotine (which would look much better) or the Grasshopper.
About the Reseen, it looks like they won`t make it (at least not until after the Clans).
