I agree we need a 55 tonner. Dervish would OWN the Hoplite. Just sayin'.

<S>

My prediction for the last three 'mechs to be revealed (Quickdraw was kinda out of left field, was nice to be surprised though!)

Light: Firestarter (Possible alternative: Javelin, or Mongoose)

Medium: Assassin (Possible aternative: Dervish)

Assault: Banshee (Possible alternative: Zeus)

Just my predictions.

Now that's a tease.
But if they have intentions to really add the Reseen now, don't you think we would have the Warhammer, Marauder or any other delicious heavy instead of the Quickdraw?

Hatchetman for medium

Not until melee is added.

Hoplite would be cool, but it has awful loadout potential.
Guillotine is out because of the Quickdraw.

Here I go again.

Light:
- UrbanMech or Firestarter
(Firestarter is the best remaining light but UrbanMech would make people go crazy)

Medium:
- Dervish or Kintaro or Clint or Vulcan
(Probably a 55 tonner, as promised, and Dervish is undeniably the best candidate)

Assault:
- Banshee or Cyclops
(Go Banshee!)

that's what would make it a shock, either:
1) it makes no sense without melee, or
2) it means they ninja'd us again and snuck melee in with the patch!

(Go Cyclops!!!) ;)

I'd be cool with any of those BUT the CLINT and KINTARO, both of which bring nothing to the game that isn't already there, or couldn't be done better by another choice. I'd take an ASSASSIN before either of those. And I don't really know what "new" it would bring, but the ZEUS would be pretty well accepted to, at least from the Btech fanatics on here.

Does anyone know what the official status of the unseen besides the HG 12? I don't expect to see them, but they aren't in the same category as the HG mechs. Their designs were never in question, and some of them are/were reseen (reseen as in re-licensed not project phoenix).

If PGI were to redo those to be different enough then there wouldn't be the same HG specter looming over their heads.

It is also stated on the Catalyst forums that the Ostscout, Ostsol and Ostroc were declassified as unseen due to their designs being different enough (not that I would be particularly excited by any of those) Who knows, FD might work miracles with them. Despite this claim on the Catalyst forums they are stencils on the MUL.

From Crusher Joe: Locust
From Dougram: Shadow Hawk, Griffin, Scorpion, Wolverine, Thunderbolt, Goliath, Battlemaster
From Victor Musical Industries: All the clan unseen with the exception of the Stone Rhino / Behemoth

Also is it know who does hold those rights in the US (if not FASA)?

Well, CGL decided to shelve ALL the Re-Seen again in response to the legal issues and questions (in 2011?). I believe the reasoning was if HG could procure the rights and screw them, then other Anime Importers could likewise obtain the rights to Crusher Joe and Dougram and start the whole fiasco over again. (and any out of house designs like the VMI ones in the old 3055 TRO)

Add to it that Btech has HUNDREDS of in house designs, is it worth it to risk everything for a handful of units, or to attempt to purchase the rest of the rights? While I love my Unseen (and am somewhat ambivalent toward the ReSeen), I believe CGL has probably made the right call. Let's face it, most of those clamoring for the Unseen will NEVER accept anything deviating from the originals, so even re-designing them is a lose/lose proposition for them.

All true...

and in all actuality after thinking about it this morning, the Project Phoenix designs may not even belong to them. They were all designed by FanPro which may hold those particular redesigns.

Yeah. I was wondering what their "ownership" status actually was, if it was part of the package like the FASA ones or not.

I actually like a handful of the Re-Seen. Most need some work still (and some like the Warhammer are just atrocious) but the Marauder isn't BAD, if you pick the right version

I think if the legs were bulked a bit, and the AC mounted a bit higher, it would actually be pretty cool.
The Thunderbolt just needs to be squatter, kinda like this

and I am pretty sure Alex could "FD" em up a tad and be golden.

Also think the Rifleman, Ostscout and Even the Crusader had SOME potential. But gotta admit, most of the rest were utter garbage.

I was trolling you out! There is absolutely no reason we should see the Hoplite. Especially since we have the Cicada.
