- Guillotine is kind of a waste after the Quickdraw.
- Cyclops is too similar in weapons loadout to the Atlas, Highlander and Orion.
- Vindicator is too slow.

I still think the Guillotine is a solid fit for the Heavy weight class. It definitely has the IIC version going for it. Though it's job is done by other mechs already in game.

Right now with mechs in game we're likely to see:

Locust IIC (not sure, 5 tons heavier then the standard Locust)
Commando IIC
Jenner IIC
Hunchback IIC
Shadow Hawk IIC (not sure, 10 tons lighter then the standard 55 ton version)
Thunder Bolt IIC (not sure, 5 tons heavier then the standard 65 ton version)
Orion IIC
Highlander IIC

Other IIC Likely chassis

Clint IIC
Guillotine IIC

I was going to say the Phoenix Hawk IIC but then I realized it was an 80 ton mech instead of the standard 45 ton version. The only other likely candidate is the Dervish IIC but it does show up till 3058(?). I am also unsure of some of the IIC variants we have because they are a different total tonnage.

As for the Vindicator it does an all round well job. Though we're more likely to see the Clint and Phoenix Hawk (now that we know the reseens are an option).

I think the Cyclops is a great opportunity for an interesting EW 'mech. Give it terrible perks, so that it's inferior in combat if kitted out that way (or just make the head hitbox ginormous). But then give it like 4-5 module slots and/or bonuses to various EW equipment. I would be really happy if the Cyclops, Battlemaster, and Atlas D-DC ended up like the "command 'mechs" they were in lore (even at the price of combat ability.)

Very, very good predictions.

I, however, prefer the faster Clint over one more ponderous Medium...

BTW: no, the Reseen Shadow Hawk (AKA Cobra Commander) is horrible! The Unseen is ugly, but at least is a classic. The FD's redesign is amazing: best of both worlds and even better.

not so big on FD's version head (pun intended), but the hideous Cobra Commander head and the rotary plus just very generic look was MEH for me. I loved the original Dougram version though, even had the old Robotech Defendr's model kit for it.

That said, with a little tweaking I think this one will work. What I really am curious is the Thunderbolt. LRM15 in one torso and SRM2 in one torso , 3 Mediums in the other, 1 Large in the Right Arm and dual machine guns in the Left? Should be hard point heaven!

As for Mediums... Imma still gonna stump or the Assassin or the Vulcan! Both fast, both Jumpers, interesting potential hardpoints, and the Vulcan should have a wicked unique silhouette.

I would like the Vulcan just for looks, it's different, and could make some interesting builds. Assassin...Some people might be able to use it, I'd just go back to my trusty Jenner though.

I kind of like it...

What's wrong with the Vulcan is the energy+ballistics loadout, similar to the Cicada (same weight).

The Assassin, on the other hand, would be interesting. Lighter fast jumping medium with energy+missiles and just enough variants.

That's it. I bet in the Assassin for the next Medium mech.

I'm guessing a 75 tonner would make sense though there are only 3 to choose from in 3050 if you exclude the clanners.

Since we are talking about Februaries mech, unless they go to 2 a month. It can really be an Assault, Light, or Medium. Medium would make the most sense, as we will have just received the Thunderbolt, and Battlemaster.

I am beginning to think that they will put in whatever mech I least expect. The medium I least expect at this point is the Whitworth. So that's my guess.

The Whitworth actually wouldn't be tragic. The 1S could be a lighter faster version of the Centurion AL that can jump.

Too slow. Variants too uniform.

Wow... just wow.

I prefer the reseen design, but still, there are people who like the unseen more and it's obvious which one was redesigned here.

Yeah, wow! He even gave it the round drum! I like everything but the hands. I think that the Awesome and the Atlas are the only mechs so far with acceptable levels of hand beefiness.

Quickdraw has pretty beefy hands.

And I gotta say the Victor looks pretty balanced. And the Hunch had tiny hands in the original art, so while not beefy, they do fit the concept well.

But the hands.... dear god those are hideous. And that missile drum screams CORE MY TORSO!!!!! No XLs here!

Just to clear things up for me, do you dislike the shape of the hands, or their size (since they look relatively tiny)?

What's so bad about such mechanical claws?

It gives it less generical humanoid look while still being true to the IS heritage of using hand acutators.
