Only $30? For the Warhammer and Marauder? You are being cheap, my friend.

Yes I know; part of the problem for that is me and the MRS. was in a motorcycle accident back in April where thanks to some ****** luck (brakes failed) we hit the back of a pickup truck. She was fine with a slight concussion and some scrapes and bruises but me on the other hand went face first into the tailgate and ended up with multiple breaks in my left leg including my knee and a torn ACL. So, thanks to all that I have been jobless for quite a while and funds are getting low. So for me $30 is a lot of money to drop. Still would love to have the two mechs in game. I love having tons of iconic mechs to be able to play with.

Thanks for the advice and yeah it sucks but I accepted the risk when I bought the bike. Overall my pride was hurt the most and things are getting back to normal for us; well except for the fighting about me wanting to fix the bike and get back on it again lol.

As far as I remember, Uziel was designed specifically for MW4: Vengeance, and since then has been canonised and liked by a lot of people, and so was MW4 redesign of Hellhound, for all intents and purposes - different mech.

I'm pretty sure that's also true for the Osiris, Chimera, Hellspawn, Argus, Thanatos and Mad Cat Mk II.

And I never got why they redesigned the Hellhound. The Hellhound is supposed to be a Wolverine IIC, thus it should kinda resemble the Wolverine. I know the Wolverine was still unseen back then, but there were tons of other Clan 50 tonners to choose from. The MW4 Hellhound is basically a completely different mech which just uses the Hellhound name.

Since I was participating in a discussion on Long Toms I came across the Pillager. From the looks of it:
  • It was a SLDF mech so not much remaining but a viable mech
  • Another 100ton ECM
  • Looks really mean with the Kodiak style claws
  • It might be a way for PGI to add the Arrow IV or Long Tom if they are willing to break some rules.
Question is, are there enough 3050 variants available to introduce it? Would be controversial and interesting to see in game but would also introduce some really nasty balancing issues with it following the current meta and it would be another 100ton ECM mech. So what does everybody think on the Pillager?

Well, only thing I can say in MW4 Hellhounds defence is that it looks way cooler and since then became somewhat iconic.

Also, looks like it was a tough one for David White:

Most, if not all, of the IICs' original artwork was done by VMI rather than FASA, and they also became Unseen when FASA went about purging all out-of-house artwork after the tussle with Harmony Gold.

Then again, Microsoft was able to include the Longbow (albeit in a rendition that doesn't too-strongly resemble the original Phalanx-class Destroid) in MW4, so why the redesign of the Conjourer/Hellhound was so much more different is a good question.

Also, I personally disagree with what they did to the Cauldron-born for MW4... :) :D

It's a combination of a variant availability issue (third variant (which happens to be the ECM variant) comes in 3064), an overall availability issue (the Pillager is completely out of production until 3058), and the fact that it's a 100-ton jumper that necessarily has at least one ballistic hardpoint in each side-torso for each of the two variants that could potentially be recovered (and we've seen how PGI seems to feel about that particular notion :D).

I agree with that too I much preferred the MW3 version.

Thanks for the link was looking for that. I had a feeling that there were not enough variants but I had a little hope since Sarna did not include all of them and PGI has been known to add mechs that are rare in the IS.

To me MWO has been getting stale with the same weapons and the same strategies where everyone bunched up and rolls over the other team. I was hoping that we could convince PGI to add some mechs with some new support weapons that were not guided (to avoid issues with ECM and heavy damage to a single mech), Long Tom cannon, mech mortar, and to a point Arrow IV; but since those weapons are pretty specific in their builds that means new mechs that can carry them. Even dumb firing LRMs to a location on a map would be nice; like: say the commander says I need missile bombardment on grid E4 you can target that spot (without having to point at that spot on the ground) and rain LRMs down like the archers of the old days. I believe that it would introduce more tactics and keep people from humping your *** for fear of artillery support. Granted the 2 modules do that now but it is an expensive 1 use weapon that puts up a bright red cloud that lets the enemy run from it unless they are assaults or stupid (watched a guy try to hit us with it while peaking over a hill and instead hit his own team while standing there while it damaged him too).

But alas we a doomed to boring old slugfests that is the same game after game after game with the occasional capping.

This mech really needs to be in the game soon. To be honest, the Banshee and its variants do have some potential. Now I know I've said this over and over again, but we really do need a 95-ton Mech to close the Assault gap. Especially since the 20-ton Light mech gap has been filled out by the Locust. Not bringing this mech in the game because of it's underhandedness is a pitiful excuse. Considering when there are other mechs and variants that are underhanded like the Trebutchet-7K, Griffin-1N, and other custom-made mech variants. As long as the Banshee is given good hardpoints to work with, I'll be fine with it.

I would like to see these variants in the game as well:
BNC-1E- Primative variant, but its decent compared to its successor
BNC-3E-Though underhanded, an engine swap with a few AC/2s or more AC/5s should make it viable
BNC-3M- I'd like to see how this variant plays out
BNC-3Q-I heard you could swap out the AC/20 for more dakka
BNC-3S-A devastating beast on the battlefield
BNC-Reinesblatt- A good hero mech for the Banshee

It make sense to put the Banshee in the game now due to the fact it is the only time-wise mech for this game and most 95-ton mechs won't appear until a few years later.

UPDATE: Added an extra sentence and made a few changes.
