I am going to cry tears of blood if I see even a SINGLE {Dezgra} buy one of those $500 gold-plated mechs.

People have been saying they should handle themselves more like SC, so they have.

well, the only good news is that my favorite one will be released second. Funny how much that Nova looks like my concept, down to the roughs I never finished or posted of the arms. Alex and I were in lock step on that one, apparently.

That said..... most of those packs are beyond whack. I don't like the Clans to begin with, but even if I did..... holy heck. I have bought Maxi packages so far, this one, I will sit out. And the "Bling Editions"? SMH

I just wish that we could actually pick and choose which mechs we want, because I love the Adder but there is not a snowball's chance in hell I'd go to $150 for it. The tiers increase by a static $30 per mech set you get so programming the price would be straightforward enough. I'm still contemplating if I want to buy any of them (waiting for customization details, i.e. I don't want to be stuck going 97 KPH with the Kit Fox).

What also irks me are the "Unique Bonus Modules" being sold at the highest tiers. Those had better not entail what I think they entail...

Battlemaster comes out in January
Griffon or Wolverine comes out in Febuary
The spare comes out in March

Clans pop out in June.

This leaves April and May, thus two unknown mechs... next year. Assuming one mech a month and all of that.

If they allow engine, structure and armor upgrades, I certainly won't buy in, in fact, I might cut and leave at that point. Omni hardpoints are already a huge bonus, even over the mostly open customization IS mechs have now. The only possible way to balance that without nerfing their weapons to joke status, is by locking the "core" of each mech. Which were NOT omni to begin with.

I dunno, if I had to choose between running at 150 kph and having to deal with hardpoints, or running at 97 kph but being able to carry 30+ Machine Guns, I think I'd go with unlimited IS-Battlemech customization over Omnis any day...

On a side note, Omni restrictions would have the dark side of not doing anything about second-line Battlemechs like the IIC line, Kraken, etc.

yeah, now mod that to a 97 kph jumping light mech with a UAC20.

And also remember this is still an FPS, there HAS to be bañlance or the Omnis will obsolete everything else.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely want stuff to be balanced and I want every piece of IS tech to stay on the field. I just think that a lot of the stock "core" Omni parts were a tad...unfavorable in some circumstances (*cough cough Hellbringer*) and in some extreme cases the Clan tech would be the stuff that's obsolete.

We'll have to wait for details on customization to make a final verdict, but judging by the fact that the Clan mechs have "variants" we're going to see at least semi-limited hardpoints (perhaps a blend of Omni and normal hardpoints like MW4?), and they'll probably try to nerf the weapons themselves to bring things in line. This doesn't mean they'll succeed at it, of course...

It's quite interesting to see how these mechs look (at least to my eye) a lot more similar to the original art than many of the IS mechs. Now, granted, many of the IS mechs had very primitive and less than functional looking art in the original TRs (Centurion, I'm looking at you), but I'm guessing the clan fans are going to be fairly happy with the look of their machines.

Not just the clanners... I think they look really great. There's a guy in the fan section making minis... Gonna have to go give him a reach-around or something, get my hands on these for my TT games.....

When hovering over the regular ones, the Clan name will appear over that mech's portrait.

Yeah I just noticed that, the IS name is just the name of the package level.

All the nerfing they have to do is to make the Clan UAC/20 (12/14=0.857) 86% as good as the IS AC/20.

I think that means a wad of buckshot or a quick burst of rounds with an optimum range of 260.

Though I welcomed the coming of the clan mechs (They look AWESOME!),

don't feel like buying at all...
