Sabre should end in April at current rate... So that's 2 other mechs.

Perhaps MASC will be done by then and the Flea might be one of those remaining 'Mechs?

So, yeah, we may have seen the last IS mech for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. 8 Clan mechs could last them till March 2014 if they do it the way they've done Phoenix/Sabre.
'm starting to think that this is it for IS mechs actually. We're essenially done for over a year.

Probably a heavy or an assault, or both. There are also all of the mechs that will be getting released at the same time as the clan mechs.

Thunderbolt -> Battlemaster -> Griffin -> Wolverine -> ? -> ? -> Clan pack + ?
The Flea may make it in there if they get MASC sorted.
The known IS count will be: Lights - 5, Mediums - 9, Heavies - 7, Assault - 6
Yeah probably a light (Maybe the Flea), and either a heavy or assault. They are getting closer to the ratios that there were in BT. Mediums and Heavies out numbered the lights and assaults.

Stop thinking inside the metabox we are currently in, and start thinking weight limits and other things.
With weight limits, you're going to want to use your team's tonnage in the most efficient way possible, and not spend it on wasteful things.
That means using mechs for the capacities that they're designed to do, such as not using an XL400 in your Victor because doing so is a bad way to build an assault mech. Or, not using a medium mech as a PPC + AC/5 boat, because mediums are better off using things like ML, SRMs, SSRMs, and other goodies. For lights, this means not being speedbumps. Gunboating is a role that lights simply are not built to excel at.

Well if things go through as theory crafted by Paul, that'll be 230 armor on the Puma (8 shy of max?) with a max speed of 106.9 kph? While not bad I think it may have some problems with getting peeled open by the heavier mechs that'll be in that weight matched game.
Will it stand up to a Jenner or Shadowhawk? I'm not sure, but I kind of agree with you it may not be DOA. With all our current speed freaks though, I think it may fall into a role closer to "lightly armored medium" and that could be bad. It should definitely be able to pack on some weapons though, around 16 tons worth if I remember.

Indeed. And they picked only the "slow" light mechs, so I see no solution for the MASC and the speed cap for a long time.

I'm very worried by the Target Computer. The fact the Masakari is the ultimate Clan package (thus "better" than the Daishi) speaks for itself.

Plus, that 95t slot is looking mighty empty in the IS lineup. Might as well fill that hole up with the only mech that can before the clan mechs hit.
Edit: Oops. Just realized it was two months (April May) before the Kit Fox arrives in June and the last C-bill Sabre drop.
Sure! Banshee and Firestarter.
