So, what are the IS mechs between, the remaining Phoenix/Sabre packages and the clan ones in June?

Sabre should end in April at current rate... So that's 2 other mechs.

guessing 4 mechs 2 standard in game free mechs, and 2 hero's that will go between Saber and Clan mechs.

Bashee
Cyclops
Firestarter
Dervish
Flea
Zeus(if any chance of a Zeus hero or standard mech-6Y)Posted Image

Perhaps MASC will be done by then and the Flea might be one of those remaining 'Mechs?

Forgot the Flea actually, if they use that for May, then don't have another in early just for the Clan release, then that would be final.

So, yeah, we may have seen the last IS mech for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. 8 Clan mechs could last them till March 2014 if they do it the way they've done Phoenix/Sabre.

'm starting to think that this is it for IS mechs actually. We're essenially done for over a year.

Probably a heavy or an assault, or both. There are also all of the mechs that will be getting released at the same time as the clan mechs.

BTW, where is the thread discussing the Clan Collection? I can't find it. Was it deleted by the mods?

Or a Light (Flea... or Firestarter, or Javelin, or Wolfhound, or Mongoose, or Thorn, or Hermes, or even the Hussar) & a Medium (Vindicator... or Assassin, or Hermes II, or Clint, or Whitworth, or Vulcan, or Sentinel, even the Dervish... or possibly the Wyvern or the Crab if PGI gives the OK for non-Royal SLDF variants). :(

There's the official feedback thread in the "ComStar Focus Group" section, then there are the myriad other threads spread across the forum.

We have a bunch of mediums at the moment, I would be surprised if they come out with two mediums right after two mediums. Don't forget the line up for the future is:

Thunderbolt -> Battlemaster -> Griffin -> Wolverine -> ? -> ? -> Clan pack + ?

The Flea may make it in there if they get MASC sorted.

The known IS count will be: Lights - 5, Mediums - 9, Heavies - 7, Assault - 6

Yeah probably a light (Maybe the Flea), and either a heavy or assault. They are getting closer to the ratios that there were in BT. Mediums and Heavies out numbered the lights and assaults.

Fup, brother, step away from the ledge.

Stop thinking inside the metabox we are currently in, and start thinking weight limits and other things.

Wolfhound would be nice, and for assault the Zeus is a possible candidate. Its popular anyway.

With weight limits, you're going to want to use your team's tonnage in the most efficient way possible, and not spend it on wasteful things.

That means using mechs for the capacities that they're designed to do, such as not using an XL400 in your Victor because doing so is a bad way to build an assault mech. Or, not using a medium mech as a PPC + AC/5 boat, because mediums are better off using things like ML, SRMs, SSRMs, and other goodies. For lights, this means not being speedbumps. Gunboating is a role that lights simply are not built to excel at.

Well if things go through as theory crafted by Paul, that'll be 230 armor on the Puma (8 shy of max?) with a max speed of 106.9 kph? While not bad I think it may have some problems with getting peeled open by the heavier mechs that'll be in that weight matched game.

Will it stand up to a Jenner or Shadowhawk? I'm not sure, but I kind of agree with you it may not be DOA. With all our current speed freaks though, I think it may fall into a role closer to "lightly armored medium" and that could be bad. It should definitely be able to pack on some weapons though, around 16 tons worth if I remember.

Doubtful the Flea will be one of the two in between Sabre and Clan drops. I mean look at the Clan mechs chosen. Conveniently, the first 8 of 16 mechs weren't known for their use of MASC. So more likely any MASC mech will show up after June (assuming IS mechs are released concurrently) or after January 2015 (assuming a similar pattern as the Phoenix release).

Indeed. And they picked only the "slow" light mechs, so I see no solution for the MASC and the speed cap for a long time.

But interestingly two mechs known to have a Clan Targeting Computer were chosen (Adder Warhawk), which makes me wonder if they will actually include that (adding another balance problem) or fudge it by converting the tonnage to extra clan DHS.

I'm very worried by the Target Computer. The fact the Masakari is the ultimate Clan package (thus "better" than the Daishi) speaks for itself.

Oh, and that humanoid, controversial, specialist mech as the next light mech is the Firestarter (if I'm not too late to chime in). Most likely this mech will be the one seen in April.

Plus, that 95t slot is looking mighty empty in the IS lineup. Might as well fill that hole up with the only mech that can before the clan mechs hit.

Edit: Oops. Just realized it was two months (April May) before the Kit Fox arrives in June and the last C-bill Sabre drop.

Sure! Banshee and Firestarter. ;)
