Good to know the Griffin is a nice ride!

What about the Wolverine first impressions?

Well, the 6K wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, but what I will say is that you should ALWAYS equip a missile weapon because people like to shoot your right arm off (which contains 4 energy weapons in it). I had to run around as a zombie with a single head ML because my arm ML and LL got shot off. :\

Wolverine reminds me of the YLW (Centurion) ability to go zombie.

let you know when I drop, tbh it was the last of the 3 I was waiting for, so I might or might not get to it tonight.

The Wolverine is pretty durable but it really sucks losing that right arm. Not a bad mech but I cannot seem to break 400 damage but that could be due to me not having the pilot skills or more that the main firepower is energy weapons. The head ML slot is nice with it allowing you to poke your head above and snipe people just wish that you could fit a LL on it. Love the cockpit and it is very mobile and even without twist speed that torso moves fast. I think though that the best buff for it would be melee though. I just wish that the left hand had claws and a yellow black paint job.

Wow, the torso twist on the Griffin and the Wolverine is insane. 130 & 125 degrees respectively. Only mechs that have that kind of twist are the Locust (130), Cicada & Hunchback (both 125), and they've got arm movement on top of that. That seems a little high to me.

Perhaps they wanted to ensure that they could compete against the Shaq Hawk?

If they went too far we can debate, but they do need at least some extra agility because the Shad has more hardpoints and better locations for those hardpoints.

Well, the Wolverine-6R had similar hard points to the SHD-2H, although it's slightly hampered by the Energy point being in the head. It does have it's ballistic mount in it's arm though, so while it is a little easier to knock out, they've got the added range & mobility for it's heaviest hitting weapon.

In addition to the added twist range, they've also got very superior Jump Jet capability. The SHD-2H & 2D2 should be 3/5 for their JJs, not 3/3. The 5M does have 5/5 which makes sense. That all the Wolverines & Griffins are 5/7 just seemed a bit high to me. Add to that their torso twist? Seems a little much.

Edit: they've also got a much better view in their cockpits. The Shadow Hawk is one of the most limited mechs when it comes what you can see out your front window.

The Wolverine's ballistic hardpoints are in the arm, which means they can't fire over cover as well as the Shad's shoulder cannon. The Wolvie has to expose itself more to fire its AC (not to mention the single head hardpoint) and that arm-cannon is a lot more likely to be destroyed due to sticking out to the side. Shad 2D2 wins for hardpoints hands-down.

Carrying 5-7 JJs is not really necessary in most situations, usually 3 or even 2 will suffice for everyday tasks. That said, I'm not opposed to increasing the Shad's JJ capacity, I just think there's a point when you don't need any more jets.

Ok, I can give that the Wolverine is gonna get beat on a little more, but then it is the brawler of the weight class.

Not necessary, but some times fun. The SHD doesn't need 7, but then neither does the Griffin, nor the Wolverine. The SHD should be able to go up to 5 though. As for there being a point where you don't need more jump jets, my Spiders say otherwise, all of which carry max JJs. The 5D with 8 can get on top of the wall on the new HPG map and then have all sorts of fun with artillery and spotting.

Yeah. If you tossed a shoulder ballistic on a Griffin-3M, the thing would be ridiculous. Now, I am torn between which to ddrive, because my Griff looks and drives better, but my Shad has better guns.

The wolverines, well, to me they are kinda the Tbolt of the medium family.... just don't seem to shine in the way the otherr 2 55ers do.

I have been noticing that the WVR-6K has a really big CT and damage received seems off on it somehow. Now it could be me with my ****** Comcast (did not do this with the last one but it started to die) router that has me at 38ping and then for no reason I am 0ver 3000 ping; but a few times I have been cored in 1 volley as soon as the enemy comes into view. I thought that I forgot to up and redistribute my armor but its at 62/10. I might have to make it 70/2 base on how fast my CT takes damage. I have not seen it with my other mechs though so not sure if it is the mech.

I have something similar happen with my Catapults, although, it's with the arms, not the CT. Today for instance, my arms were fine, 40 armour on it, no damage taken. I see a PPC blast come in, so probably 2 PPCs & 2 AC/5s as well, so 30 damage. I should have 10 armour left right? Nope, the arm falls off. I'm almost wondering if the thing is bugged or something. It's possible that this was the 2nd volley to hit the arm, but in my awareness nothing else hit, although there are bugs at time where it gives no indication that I'm taking damage.

I wonder if anyone else is noticing that they are taking too much damage too. Might be a bug introduced like the call function bug.

well, I thought I was seeing and experiencing some wonky things last night, just thought maybe it was lag. but just for curiosity I would think that the game servers are monitored by the dev.'s for any abnormal activity?

So we still got a potential two IS mechs prior to the clan mechs,

care to discuss about that?
