Single player and integrated viop is nice but I'm thinking we'll see the battle of Tukayyid before that stuff makes it into the game.

Plus how does everyone know I really belong to the Lyran Faction? Steiner is also a Bloodname for Clan Cloud Cobra.

Or maybe, I'm this guy.......

Single Player Campaign

Excuse me for a moment while I go EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE like a squealing pre-teen girl at a boyband concert.

Come on, 3025-era campaign! Come on!

Ooooh! Or even better, a campaign which stretches from the days relatively "peaceful" time at the end of the 3rd Succession War in the early 3020's (around the time of the first Novels) through the outbreak of the 4th Succession War, the war of 3039 and all the way to and into the Clan Invasion. With some timeskips for the periods where nothing happened, of course. We could get lore tidbits like the formation and rise of the Gray Death Legion, the creation of the FedCom and Rasalhague, We could start with the "Mechs held together with spit, duct tape and hope" level of tech in the early days and then slowly get access to more advanced tech and even factory-new mechs as the information from the Helm Memory Core starts making its influence felt and so on and so forth.

Following your own Mercenary Company through the span of 3+ decades could be really good, and is not something done in a Mechwarrior game yet. It's always been just a few years in the previous ones.

I think the best option for them to do, would be two separate campaigns, one IS the other Clan, and have them like up around the time of battle of tukayyid.

The IS campaign would be merc focused, with 3 lance mates, that could be AI or drop-in/drop-out co-op per mission. As an aside to the merc focused, you could higher AI's and out fit them to run missions that you do not want to run. I've got a couple of ideas that I really should wright down and send in...

The Clan focused one, should start just before operation revival, and end with Tukayyid, your star mates should not be able to be ordered to focus fie, until then enemy does (something that would not happen until you face IS units), like the Merc campaign you start as a member of a star, but rise to the point of being a Galaxy Commander, able to issue clusters to battle on different operations.

However, wearing a mask would bring you one step closer to being a Char Clone... ;)

Quote

Expect to see these traits in a Char clone:
  • Blonde or otherwise pale hair. In case his hair is dark, it'll rarely be shown.
  • An Ace Custom Humongous Mecha (or plane/car/motorcycle/whatever), usually red (but occasionally gold, from Char's Zeta Gundam mecha). May be referenced as being three times better (especially faster) than normal.
  • A Cool Mask, or at the very least face-covering Cool Shades. This may be part of a Cool Helmet.
  • A Red Baron title, usually referencing their color of choice.
  • A Long-Lost Relative among the cast, allowing for The Reveal at a dramatically appropriate time. Frequently an Aloof Big Brother as well.

I don't know what color Bishop's hair is, but hair color is clearly not a disqualifying factor.
Bishop likely has several highly-customized 'Mechs. Surely, at least one of them is mostly red?
I seem to recall one of Bishop's (KGC-related?) posts referencing himself as a Viscount.
Bishop has claimed to be a distant cousin of Frederick Steiner (in reference to the change in his allegiance icon).

Favorite Nephew, actually.

really, coming from you, highly shoddy fact finding!

Though I would hardly be the first Steiner to find refuge in the Combine, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Assuming it's not all lies.

What if it's a clever ruse, an my name is really Cardinal Liao?

Really? 'Cause I thought that Malkaves said:

"Pink Squirrels where red hats!"

that is what they would say about madness....
