And there will also be a light, a medium and an assault to round things up.
The question is: Firestarter, Assassin and Banshee?

I doubt it. Soon, we have the Shadow Hawk. Griffin and Wolverine are already in progress, unfortunately!
Three 55 ton Dougram mechs!

Bye bye Dervish, Kintaro etc.!
We don't know Griffin and Wolverine are in progress! In fact, we don't know if they ever will be in the game.
But I agree: bye bye Dervish and Kintaro (fortunately).

That logically leaves only the amazing potential of the Dervish, followed by the Vulcan and then the Assassin.

Tonnage similarities doesn't stop PGI from introducing multiple mechs of the same weight. Afterall, we already have 3 50 ton mechs in the game, two 65 ton mechs with a third coming. Plus we already have two 30 ton light mechs, two 60 ton heavies, and two 80 ton assaults. Get the Flea and the Locust you got two 20 ton light mechs too.
These precedents show tonnage repetition won't stop Zeus (80 tons), Griffin (55 ton) and Wolverine (55 ton). The fact that PGI decided to put the Quickdraw (60 tons) ahead of the Orion (75 tons) shows tonnage uniqueness isn't their top priority. Or else, something like the Banshee (95 tons) should have been July's mech.
I do think however time is running out for introducing more IS mechs after Project Phoenix and PGI would be rightfully prioritizing introducing Clan mechs for much of 2014. Unless they make good of their 2 mechs a month initiative by introducing a Clan and an IS mech at the same time for balance.

You don't understand: Dervish and Kintaro are out not because of the tonnage. It's because the are too similar to Quickdraw and Trebuchet (mechs of almost the same tonnage).

LIES!!!!
Name me the Quickdraw or Trebuchet with 4 Missile ports!?!?!?! And JJs.
That's right. Kintaro is a pointless design (and ugly) but the Dervish?
Still would fill a role nicely. Even if there are too many insecure HBK4SP and Trebbie pilots scared it'll put them out of work as "Missile boats".
Heck they even "borrowed" liberally (I kid, well sorta, but you gotta admit, the resemblance IS rather strong)) from my Dervish redesign in making the QD, so make a few tweaks, lose the Marvin the Martian antennae, and slap Cataphract type paddle on the forearms, and PGI saves time and money in the modeling department to boot!

vs

Be good to see those mechs do something useful for a change, anyhow.

If it was Inner Sphere, I would bet King Crab (only other 100 ton 'Mech mentioned in TRO 3039 aside from Atlas). Other possibility is the Annihilator, which would be absolutely devastating with 4 Gauss Rifles.

For lights:
Panther (Important Kurita mech)
Wolfhound (the counter Panther mech)
For Mediums
Vindicator (essential Liao mech)
Griffin (common medium mech, Dougram unseen, so its a good match to the Shadowhawk)
Wolverine (another common medium mech and Unseen from Dougram. Both Griffin and Wolverine would be good for a Project Phoenix phase 2)
The Griffin and the Wolverine are a must --- their Unseen forms comes from the same anime show that had the original designs for the Shadowhawk, the Thunderbolt and the Battlemaster. It is only right that they rejoin their brothers in MWO.
Hatchetman (also another common medium mech)
Heavies
I am not holding my breath for the Rifleman and the Warhammer though. The Rifleman being a near duplicate of the Jagermech but loses 5 tons, also poses another problem for its functional redundancy. If the Warhammer comes to MWO, likely to be based closer to the MWDA figure, which is also the basis for the original Project Phoenix and the accepted image used in the TRO.
The Archer is another Macross related unseen I would like to see but I am not holding my breath either.
Marauder
Warhammer and Rifleman

Rifleman

The Archer and the Crusader never made it to the DA sets, and for that I have never seen them reimagined in Project Phoenix guise.
PGI took design elements from the MWDA Battlemaster, whose design is canonized into the original Project Phoenix image of the Battlemaster, and made it their own. Note the shoulder pad and threads that is not present in the original Battlemaster design from Dougram.
The MWDA Battlemaster

For heavies, I also want to add the Black Knight. That one is already worth its own expansion pack by its own name in Mechwarrior 4.
Now for assaults.
Certainly the Zeus. Long time ago, there was the Mechwarrior 4 Inner Sphere pack. It featured four mechs to add to your MW4 Vengeance game.

Three of the mechs in the pack are now honored in MWO. But the most popular one in the pack --- the Zeus --- remains missing. MWO without the Zeus is like staring in mirror with a big gap in your teeth.
And of course, people want the Banshee, a 95 ton mech that runs at 64kph.
totally agree with the panther and wolfhound for added light mechs, wouldn't mind seeing a javelin, a mech that can shoot a unending stream of srm/ssrms since the srm buff would be cool. for the mediums a Hollander or the super fast assassin would be my picks, for heavies id have to say the lao hu, ac20 ppc and JJ stock is hot and some how the dissymmetry of the two arms looks awesome. kind of like the frankenmech cataphract. another cool heavy id like to see is the avatar, a comstar exclusive mech I think. assaults, really not a fan of banshee, its slow way undergunned and has poor armor for being a 95 tonner, even in BT books they make fun of how terrible the mech is. id say bring on the mauler, zeus and yu huang. all my opinion

Yes, it could be "scrapped", but just in rare cases! I'm sure they will make it into the game.
IMO, the only interesting 55 ton mech by Dougram is the Scorpion Quad.

Russ says in the #79 NGNG Podcast that the Unseens such as Wolverine and Griffin are a possibility and even Macross designs are not off the table (but "don't hold your breath" for the last ones).
The thing is: they made a fuss about the Phoenix mechs. If they just add another 2 Dougram 55 tonners so soon, it will obfuscate the Shadow Hawk.
If they ever add more Unseens, I predict another "Phoenix program" in the far future (like 2015) - with icons like the Marauder and Warhammer. They will need to really rise the bets to make people give them more money.
See the pattern:
2012: Founders program
2013: Phoenix program
2014: Clan program
2015: Ultra big Macross program

and unless they truly re-bork the game in between now and then, or don't get around to adding some modes, maps and other content.......
I will be there to pay for it. Though I am likely to skip the Clan one.
