So, it turns out (from the thread that I came across just recently :)) that Boar's Head is actually attributed to a Federate noble... and that PGI may well have just used the specs (or, at least, the loadout) from Rondema's 'Mech to flesh it out for MWO.

Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors: MechWarrior Rodney Van Kleven

A member of the elite 6th Syrtis Fusiliers, Rodney Van Kleven is an aristocrat with the instincts of a democrat. Extremely personable, he is well liked by everyone from fellow MechWarriors to the lowliest ship's cook.

On the battlefield, Van Kleven uses his Atlas, which he calls the Boar's Head, like a 100-ton scout. He stomps all over the field, creating general terror in the enemy lines and almost always overheating his 'Mech. He has won several land grants, but quickly loses the titles when his 'Mech overheats and shuts down on the battlefield.

I didn't have the book itself in front of me, too tired to have thought to check the unit affiliation on Sarna, and the description does practically scream "(stereo)typical Lyran scouting policy"... :)

The error has, however, been addressed.

Bishop, cut the man some slack! :)

Seriously, they need to start making more light Hero 'Mechs. They talk about not having an arms race in MWO, yet the majority of the Hero 'Mechs are either heavy or assault based? This logic is baffling...

To make it short, the next unannounced mech will come in April.

I don't think it'll be April. I expect Clan Omnimech concept art images will begin being released in January and or February. The only way I could see April is if they've suddenly got way behind on content (which clearly hasn't happened /sarcasm) which is the beginning of Q2.

I hope your right, Butane. They still need to announce the Banshee, Firestarter and UrbanMech!

Quite frankly I wasn't expecting to see an hero Atlas; until now Founder chassis were "untouchable". I think they are really racing to cash up a lot of money. For those who are interested of course it's going to be a pretty expensive hero..

I expect their art as well for early 2014 if they really want to make a clan starter pack within June of the next year. If they are planning for this, they need to cover mech releases from April to what? June? July? So we should get 2-3 IS mechs before the Clan begin to be available.

I hope one of them is going to be the Banshee as the assaults could benefit from a 95 tonner; then mediums and heavies look to be "filled", so we miss a few lights even including the flea.

Atm we have
6 lights (including locust and flea) <- there's room for more imho at least 1 or 2
9 mediums (no more here for now I guess)
7 heavies (including the TB)
6 assaults <- the same as for the lights.

I have a bad feeling about this hero Atlas*... it looks like there won't be really more new IS chassis until after the Clans. ;)

Ok I am really looking forward to the Project Phoenix and my locust but I want the Flea? I am the light Specialist for my Unit and have only a few lights I can choose from while everyone else has all these new ones to use.

Ok that is my only complaint

Flea is much slower than the Locust but will probably have more hardpoints... I don't know, I'm excited to have a 20 tonner in MWO, but not two.

Actually, no.
If no new Assault get to the game this year, Zeus has smaller chances to show up.

Maybe. But then, despite our fanboyesque grumblings HERE, neither of those Chassis are really iconic enough, IMO, in general, to push massive sales.

Yen Lo Wang, ANYTHING Highlander, Atlas. All HUGE even to peripheral Btech/MEchwarrior fans. As of course would anythign Madcat, Uziel, UnSeen. But a lot of these, IDK. The Highlander was pushed to take advantage of the Metarape, and the Orion has been the so called "sweet spot" Heavy. But not 100% sure we will continue with a Hero/MC/ Cbill progression through EVERY introduced chassis. That only started with Heavy Metal, after all.

That said, I don't think we are seeing ANY new Mechs for a bit, though I would love to at least have a teaser, until the Phoenix Stuff roles.

I think we'll see the Clan package in December as the Saber Reinforcements are wrapping up. Christmas present to the community as well as generating a ton of money for PGI to bank off of going into the next year.

I still think there is a chance they will announce another 'Mech in October.

Hmm remember they vented second quarter so I guess we may only see some designs from december to january to tease us and then the pack may go live later, hardly in december I think.
