Could we get the Caesar then?

The CES-3R (sans the right-hand Hand Actuator) can be replicated with the CTF-1X (though, Smurfy is saying it only has 0.75 tons remaining after adding everything except the second ton of Gauss ammo :)).
Alternatively, here is the Faux-Caesar with a bit of armor knocked-off to make the Gauss ammo fit.

Each of the other variants, however, requires tech that hasn't been introduced yet (Light FF, Light Engine, Heavy PPC, and IS ER Small Laser for the CES-3S; IS ER Medium Laser and Snub-Nose PPC for the CES-4R; Light Engine, Heavy Gauss Rifle, and IS ER Medium Laser for the CES-4S).

Your Smurfy was off by 8 points of armor. TT values from the TRO:3050 state 6 points of armor per rear side torso location. Second ton fits just dandy.

Ahhh... Thanks! :D
(Also, feeling extra-derpy because it says 6 points per rear ST right on the S7 page that I linked...)

So, then... does anyone have a CTF-1X and a desire to set it up as a faux-Caesar, and is willing to run a number of matches with it and report back (preferably with a YouTube video)?

Good guess.
Any clues about a notorious Quickdraw?

"Often called "The Grumbler" by his lancemates, Jack Breslin seems to enjoy going into combat always complaining about something. Aboard his Quickdraw, the Spare Parts Sally, he has taken part in a number of engagements as a member of House Steiner's Fifth Arcturan Guards.
A loner, Breslin has few friends. The one love in his life seems to be his Quickdraw, and he spares no expense (personal or otherwise) to ensure that it remains in top working shape. Breslin does most of the overhaul work himself, and has developed an armored ankle sheath for his 'Mech to prevent problems with the leg actuators. Although Spare Parts Sally is one of the best-maintained 'Mechs in the Arcturan Guards, Breslin still complains that more needs to be done to put her in top condition." (Source: TRO 3025)

"The head of Upsalom's Support Lance of Redjack Ryan's pirate 'Mech force, Ivy Upsalom is also known as "The Ladykiller". During a raid, she monitors the enemy's tactical frequency and picks up on the female MechWarriors, challenging them to personal combat in her Quickdraw, the IV-Four. Upsalom claims she is the best woman MechWarrior in or out of the Successor States, and no one has lived to prove her wrong. The Ladykiller has more than 30 combat kills to her credit." (Source: TRO 3025)

TRO 3039 also mentions a Major Jeffery Saphara, a MechWarrior of the St. Cyr's Grenadiers; his Quickdraw has no given name, and the only description of its armament is that it carries missiles and Jump Jets (with the implication being that it's a normal 4G model).

TRO 3050U mentions a Kevin Jessup being the CO of the First Company of Second Battalion in the Twenty-Sixth Lyran Guards, and using his unmodified QKD-4G (the TRO explicitly says it is unmodified) to make "seven confirmed OmniMech kills on three worlds in the space of a month" during Clan Wolf's initial thrust into Lyran space.

Thanks, Strum!

So, Spare Parts Sally, Ladykiller or "Cold Feet" (suggested name for the Saphara's mech - appropriate for the story of his unit). Jessup's mech is stock and in the future, so not a good candidate for hero mech.

No video but that is close to how mine is set up. Standard lasers instead of pulse, lacks CASE, carries AMS, and mounts more armor. Works well, but the ER PPC runs really hot and must be fired separately from lasers, though it is great for snap shots or when the lasers are generating too much heat in close combat. The gauss is difficult to use with its low mount. Packs a nice punch at range and the charge mechanic conserves ammo well so the two tons is ample. Not an outstanding build, still solid enough to be fun once you get used to it.

Though, "Ladykiller" is apparently actually the title/callsign for Ivy Upsalom herself (due to her making a point of challenging and defeating other female MechWarriors), while the name of Upsalom's Quickdraw is "IV-Four", which could be a play play-on-words in a couple of ways:
  • "IV" being both the letter I and the letter V, with "IV" = "ie-vee" = "Ivy" (the pilot's name),
  • "IV" being the roman numeral 4, with the 'Mech's name then being "4-4" & the .44 Magnum being famously used by Clint Eastwood as "Dirty Harry" during the time when BattleTech was created.
Though, there is also the question of actual loadout, and how to make it sufficiently different from the 4G, 4H, and 5K without being outright superior to them... :D

With a name like IV-four I will be very disappointed if it does not mount an AC/20.

I know what you're thinking. "Did Ivy fire seven shots or only six?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is an AC/20, the most powerful direct-fire 'Mech-gun in the Inner Sphere, and would blow your cockpit armor clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?
 :D

I know, I know... Ladykiller sounded more intimidating...

(but thinking about your Magnum .44 comparison, IV-Four is really badass)

Probably not related, but Upsalom reminds me of Upsilon, the Greek numeral for 400.

OR....

for the linguistically inclined

Ivy Upsalom, phonetically sounds a lot like IV Upsilon, which is the cyrillic character for... "Y", which has a numeric value of...4(00). the remaining 00 looks a lot like OO, which is the phonetic pronunciation to Upsilon.

Aka IV-Y(00psilon)

It's a stretch, but hey, I'm home sick, cut me some slack!

@ Odanan

I miss the old title... I agree it warranted a change, but the current one just doesn't stand out. Needs some way to be noticed more easily. Use a bunch of ****@@@@$$$$ or something....

When I refresh the page, updates to this thread are the first I look for (and dammit, this needs re-stickied).....

I'd also like to have a less generic title. And this thing should be PINNED BACK ASAP. Odanan, have you tried to reach any mod for this? Otherwise I'll start hammering some..

Someday they will be and possibly in 2014. By possibly I mean that you can keep a glimmer of hope but most likely you will just become upset by the fact that it is taking so long to push something that they already promised should be here. Back in November 2012 they promised that CW and UI 2.0 would be here by the summer 2013 and the clans would be close behind. 1 year later, Oct. sometime, they said that the clans will show up in quarter 2-3 2014. So unless you are really patient just forget that the Clans exist or stop caring until they show up. Also if you only want to pilot Clan mechs because of how powerful/OP they are 1 or 2 things will happen; When they are released they will either be severely OP and require some knee jerk balancing *cough*ghost heat*cough* or they will utterly suck over fear of them being OP.
