Imagine a champion Champion mech... when PGI chose the to give the "semi-hero" mechs the name of champions, they kind of block the Champion. (besides, it's too similar with the Dragon. Guillotine has the same problem with the Grasshopper)

- Heavy: Lancelot, Merlin (or BattleAxe, or Hammerhands) - both the BattleAxe and Hammerhands need a third variant, but adding any would be a joy for Warhammer fans

Well, it is a coming in the future kind of list. I can see the Bushwhacker as a mech coming in the future. I can honestly see them "fudging" the timeline a bit yo get all three variants in at the same time in about a year or so.

Champion is a solid choice (Champion champion aside). Even if it is similar to a Dragon, a lot of mechs are similar to each other. Its fine. The Champion just needs to happen...deal with it

If they don't fast forward the timeline soon, they will need to release copycat mechs such as Guillotine and Champion. Because besides the Black Knight (probable IS next heavy), Lancelot (good choice) and the Merlin (questionable choice), there aren't heavies left.

If they do a time leap soon, there will be a whole new collection of tasty heavies to introduce (Excalibur, Gallowglas, Penetrator, Argus, Thanatos, Avatar...).

With the exception of a few aesthetically pleasing mechs designs post 3050, I can quite do without the continued power creep. Most mechs in my post 3050 TROs are just plain ugly to me. Sry. They become too organic looking. And don't even think about the protomechs... Blech... I'd rather see PGI work on inputting all elements of the genre (infantry, armor, power armor, aesrospace, etc) than jump to 3055+. Betting I am alone on this one though.

I'd rather see 3058 as a time jump, mostly for the tech adjustments for the IS that happen around then, might stop some of the QQ....

Then again, if they keep the IS UAC's like UAC 5, we are going to have issues....

I think all UACs should be burst fire, but have a lower jam percentage to compensate...maybe have it increase exponentially by the number of UACs being fired at a time.

I don't see the Wolfhound so your list is invalid, but other than that I like the list even if its still missing a few.

Invalid? Really? Because it's missing one single mech that has production date in Sarna of 3052? (2 years in the future)

True, there is the original Wolfhound from 3028 (the WLF-1) and 2 field refits (that actually don't count as variants), but the Wolfhound should wait a couple of years to appear in the game.

I added it to the following list, in a later pack, because it is such an iconic mech (and considering how gorgeous the Panther looks, it will be sexy). But honestly? All variants are basically the same thing - I'm not nearly excited about it.

The holy starter box forgive me, but I would prefer a million times the Guillotine over the Grasshopper. I don't like laser boats, but I would have bought the full Resistance pack it it was the Guillotine the heavy mech.

Pros:
- it looks unique (that kind of beautiful ugliness common to the JagerMech, Orion and Cicada);
- it is slightly more versatile than the Grasshopper (because the missile hardpoint is in the center torso instead of the head);
- it is a little more common through Inner Sphere.

Calm down I was just being facetious with the invalid comment. Still the mech was around in 3028 and was used heavily by 3039 and a more advanced one was built in 3052. It would be less of a stretch to see the Wolfhound in this time line then a lot of the mechs we already have in game. You may not be excited about it but others are.

I think it would be worth it to release the Firemoth even without MASC. It would be near the Light 'Mech Speed Barrier even without it, which would be a boon to Clan players in and of itself.

Could even use the tonnage saved (1 ton, if my math is right) for more armor, like with the Hellbringer's A-Pods.

If MASC becomes a thing later, they can add it back in, and folks can adjust their builds back to accomodate it (I hesitate to mention the hardlocked JJ pod adjustments on the KFX and TBR for an example here).

I'd get behind Firemoth for the coveted speed light in the next Clan pack, MASC or not.

Edit: Aaaaaand the presence of a 20-ton clan mech also allows for some coveted Community Warfare drop deck combos and tactical options as well. So yeah, it's tonnage and speed are more important than its MASC, IMHO.

Without MASC it would run at 162 km/h (178.2 with speed tweak) - just a little faster then the maximum speed in the game (The Death's Knell = 155.5 / 171.1).

And it's wrong.

I can make my Locust 1M on it, but better and faster.
2CMPL, 2CSRM2 or even 2CSRM4 with enough ammo for each.

The B Config is nice too, it'll have 2-4 CMGs and 2CMPLs, also solid.

The A and C configs are a bit, meh, but the Prime and B are nice and I would enjoy them immensely.
