Quirks can't fix bad geometry.... Look at the Awesome, TT a Death dealing monster, here its a walking barn door, I love mine by the way.... The Firestarter in TT is kind of meh, here it's nearly broken due to lag sheilds, and questionable hit boxes as well as questionable hit registration....

It CAN fix bad geometry in some cases. With the Catapult, all the structure buff to the CT helped a ton. However, then PGI tried to fix the hitboxes and now we have a Catapult I'm trying to equip with STD engines because the STs now melt like the CT used to (Before any hitbox or structure quirks).

It's weird how the Catapult went from TOO XL friendly to a XL deathtrap.

Who knows, maybe it's in my head and I have just spent too much time in a face-tanker mech like the Marauder. Still, I swear those side torsos on the Catapult are now made of warm butter.

Don't know what to tell you, 'cept for one or two games when I first started using a trial Catapult I've never spent much time in them to get a feel for them.

Most of my time in game has been spent in the fallowing:

Warhawk (Elite)
Timber Wolf (Elite)
Hellbringer (Elite)
Dragon (Elite)*
Centurion (Elite)*
Adder (Elite)
Locust (Elite)*

* = My personal favorites to use

I usually play only with mechs heavier than 70 tons (Orions, T-Wolf, Marauder, Stalker, Mauler, Banshee, Executioner, Dire Wolf, Atlas, King Crab), with the exception of the Cicada and the Firestarter. The older ones are all mastered, of course.

Now I'm struggling with the Blackjack (bought in last sales) and the Shadow Cat. Still left some of my Ebon Jaguars completely unused.

Folks said the same thing about the Shadowhawk once.

The crab does well for what it is, the problem a lot of folks have with it is it is VERY boring to skill up since all the variants are basically copy/paste.

Yet oddly I run XLs in all but one CPLT and find them way more survivable now than at any point since closed beta.

I do think it's in your head (although few things compare to the MAD-3R for face tanking), I think you are still twisting like you would with the old hitboxes, which indeed does expose the ST more. I find that if I play it similar to my MAD, actually, with little microtwists, it spreads nicely.

Only if the mech's single weapon wasn´t in the CT.

That's true.

I did some more research. Both the Hussar and Javelin have ECM variants whilst the Valkyrie doesn't. The Hussar doesn't have JJs but comes with a 270 or 240 engine. That means the slowest variants would be able to take a 300 rated engine. As I've been saying, with minor hard point buffs it'd be solid.

The Javelin could have a 240 if I'm not mistaken. Basically, both mechs would be notably superior to the Valkyrie.

Needs to lose the ballistic/missile quirks for even more PPC ones.

Seriously, ballistic quirks on a 'Mech that mounts MGs stock? Missile quirks for a 'Mech that has dual Streaks?

Warhammers are about PPCs. We should be seeing efficient PPC use.

And FFS, let's get Omnipod style quirks here so we can give the arms great PPC quirks and not turn it into a mega-PPC boat.

Tell you what, if timeline was not a thing, screw the Kodiak and the Madcat mkII

Gimme a Scylla!

Look at those 3 super high energy hardpoints, 1 super high ballistic, 64 kph speed and JJs. Missiles in the arms for either fighting off Lights or shooting over obstacles.

Timeline is a thing, Bishop.
(but that's a very cool drawing, anyway)

I would think that Bishop knows that the timeline is a thing, and that his post was a parody of intended-to-be-serious posts like this one. ;)

I think the Vulcan is more unique and cool looking, but I want them both real bad.

We are soon coming to the last week of January and still no new mech pack announced...

Will it be Project Phoenix II or Clan Wave IV?
