At the end of the day, a 45 ton humanoid (more torso exposure wiyh lower hardpoints in general) with 45 ton armor and structure. MASC helps, ECM really helps, but when you are hit, it hurts and you need to expose that mech to use all 6 hard points.

I still think it needs the structure the Vindicator needs (and hopefully it gets it as a newly released mech).

I was also saying it might need the LLaser quirked to be an equivalent in duration to the LPLaser to help free up some tonnage for MASC and/or ECM, but the hard point inflation sounds like enough to let that idea go.

Overall though, if you want to run 6 MLasers or 6MPLasers on a 45 ton mech, you would want to use ECM for a sneak attack. I don't think a non ECM variant (even with MASC) is going to keep you safe at 45 tons and tall.

Really all hypothetical till we have it in our hands, but I'm thinking this is still going to be very Vindi like. I can work with that (especially if it is a bit better), but it might be quickly forgotten by some.

Again, I'd say keep expectations in check and that way, if it truly is a lot better, it won't dissapoint. That's what I'm doing for when I get it :).

Also of note, with a 300xl, 6JJ, fullish armor, you have 15 or so tons left, or 1/3 of the mass for firepower Equip. With either MASC or ECM plenty to pack 6 MPL, with 1-2 extra DHS, 10 of which are truedubs, unlike the BJ. Especially if you use a295 instead.

I'm not saying it'll be a meta champ, just that it should price far better than my poor VND.

Amen!. I even know where to find a SEXY model to base the Vulcan on. Donate it to PGI free of charge

I hope your right.

I also hope that if the Vindicator is truly that outclassed compared to a Phoenix Hawk, that the Vindicator is given some serious scrutiny by PGI for once and some changed be made for the better.

I still stand by one thing though, I don't think you are going to want to use that Phoenix Hawk as a short range fighter at 45 tons if it is the size of a Vindicator. 45 tons is flimsy under fire without structure quirks. It needs to be small (and so does the Vindicator for that matter). For 45 tons, they should be closer in size to a Hunchback, and not the Shadow Hawk :/.

VND is getting Rescaled. And you can count on new mech benefitting from the volumetric scaling from go. Also both SHD and GR8 brawl well in the right hands and are bigger. Ditto CN9

I was a wash out from my Mechwarrior sibko, as per Clan Ghost Bear traditions, I was able to attempt to pass as a warrior in a lower station. I have a knack for being unorthodox, I used that to my advantage during my trial of position against other Elementals.

Am I the only one who really wants a GIJoe/Transformers crossover mini series or film, based on the WWII crossover comic? (Which was awesome, btw)

There was one comic I really loved, it was a GI Joe/Transformer crossover set during WWII. :)

Jae Lee's art in it was fantastic. He's one off my fave comic artists, along with Alex Maleev. Such a dark, expressive style.

Does anyone have the original Madcat MK.II concept art David did for MW4? Just curious.

Sorry, he only made those concept arts for MW4: Mercs... the Mad cat II came out in MW4 vengence (earlier) thus none of those concept art pics are released. The closest I can find is this retexture in terms of 'concept art' but it's just his retexture of the mad cat mk II from MW4; v and MW4: m
