Just the SoCal folk?

yeah, pretty much. Most people North of Fresno, maybe even Bakersfield wouldn't bat an eye if a 9.0 quake dropped all of SoCal into the Pacific.

Seriously. Only reason the state has never been split is SoCal needs to steal as much of NorCals water as possible to keep watering their lawns in that desert called LA.

Right.... not like mechs already in game don't share art assets or anything....

Viper and Nova share legs
Timber Wolf and Mad Dog share legs
Hellbringer and Summoner share legs
Warhawk and Dire Wolf share legs
Arctic Cheetah and Mist Lynx share legs
Timber Wolf, Hellbringer and Summoner share arms

That went straight over you head.. it's ok

Well, most Clan omnimechs reuse parts, and the Warhammer and Rifleman do share the same legs.
I see no problem if, when the lore supports it, PGI make these mechs share components.

Obviously and I agree with it. My actual point was that people see "re-used" art everywhere. The Cyclops is the latest but do you remember the fuss about the Quickdraw supposedly having the Highlander's legs ? NO ? Because it doesn't. Lately it's been Viper and Raven, etc..

Probably a good thing then the Cyclops DOESN'T have the Archer's Torso, or Warhammer/Rifleman's legs, then.

Knees are kind of similar in style, and the only way the Cyc and Arc share torsos is if every mech with a jutting CT and Missiles in the STs are apparently knockoffs of the Archer.

The distinction is greater between the Cyc and Arc than between the Arc and MDD, and that's only really "same" in thematic style. If anything, the closest resemblance is that the legs of the Cyc are similar to a beefed up version of the GRFs.

Are there similarities? Sure. There are and always have been thematic similarities between ALL of Alex's work. That's called an aesthetic, and also what happens when ONE artist does all the work for an IP.

But to cry "Legomech" is much ado about nothing, and TBH, just flat out wrong.

(Just noting this because I forget where some yo yo was calling it lego mech ripoff of archer torso and warhammer legs, lol)

THEN WHY DO YOU KEEP MOVING HERE???!?!

Ex-Californians in Seattle are known as Californicators...

Couldn't tell ya' why, I don't share their motivation. Not sure I would move, except maybe for job reasons, or my wife's schooling.

Bishop, I grew up in delta country, and I'm still not terribly far from there. You've captured the Salt-Joaquin view quite well.

Water rights are definitely a "thing" in NorCal, but especially in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley.

yeah, my Mom and Brother still do. I was there about 2 months ago. Great Thai place there near Woodbridge, (Thai Spices) and of course have to get an A&W whenever I'm in town. Probably be back up this fall for a couple weeks.

SoCal's thirsty, man. It'll be interesting to see how much it helps.

Stockton to Sacramento here, Grandparents lived in Galt, rest of the family's still in Stockton.

Mmmmmmmmm A&W.

I'm sure you've got your favorites, but I've got a couple places I remember fondly in Lodi. Dragon Lite Deli's Mongolian beef: tasty spicy hotness from a hole-in-the-wall kind of place. Matsuyama Sushi's tasty too (hint: they do more than sushi).

Never got to try Thai Spices. I'll have to remember it next time I'm in the neighborhood. Thanks for the tip Posted Image

Non-sequitur: Next IS 40-tonner? I'm unaccountably interested in the Hermes, even though some of the other designs are pretty cool.

Oz in Lodi by the Wal-mart has some killer sushi too. My favorite Thai place is up in Elk Grove though.

As far as IS 40 tonner go though, Assassin or bust.

Although i enjoy the mechs and the new variants of the current mech i cant help but wonder if i will ever see the hellhound join the battle.. from my times playing the old mechwarriors the hellhound was by far the hardest hitting medium mech iv ever come across would be nice to pilot it again

Next 40 tonner?. Slim profile, high speed and JJs leave me pretty equally satisfied with Assassin or Vulcan. I think ASN probably more effective, VL-2T more interesting, especially visually.

So I had dream last night that PGI released a full-blown IS mech pack. It included the Ostroc and the Wasp, but I couldn't remember the other two after waking up.

Take that for what it's worth, which isn't much.

(I think I may need to step away from this game for a while.)

Man, you won't believe it, but I dreamed something like that last night too!
It was a Project Phoenix II, with Wasp, Chameleon, Crusader and Longbow.

Sure, that doesn't count much 'cause I dream with mechs all the time... :/
